Product Management at hyperexponential

Our Technology department is a melting pot of some of the brightest (and kindest!) engineers and product managers in the industry.

The level of complexity of hx Renew requires a highly technical, true engineering mindset, so an output of this is a deeply creative, innovative environment where we push the technological boundaries of what’s possible.

You will report to the Product Lead and work closely with a product engineering team. We always have more hard product problems than we have time to solve so this is a position with plenty of growth opportunity as we continue to expand!

Your Mission

We need a technically-minded Platform Product Manager to help us build and evolve the foundational services, tools, and infrastructure that empower teams to deliver high-quality products at scale. You will focus on creating reliable, scalable, and efficient platforms that accelerate development, reduce operational overhead, and enable innovation across the organization.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and other product teams to ensure that the platform tooling you build provides a best-in-class experience, enforces security and compliance standards, and optimizes system performance and cost efficiency. Your work will have a broad impact, enabling teams to move faster while ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our technology ecosystem.

You will have ownership of the strategy in this space, and you will get to make your mark and establish a best-in-class foundation for our future products and features.

Key Responsibilities

Note: hx is still a relatively early-stage business, and our culture prizes initiative highly - as such, this section is a good indicator of your role, but the list isn’t exhaustive.

You’ll get to shape your strategy, but your first 12-18 months might look like:
  • Introducing new capabilities into our portals to support our growth into new markets and segments.

  • Extending our identity and access model to provide even more control for customers.

  • Leveraging automation to improve efficiency and cost in our management of environments and infrastructure.

  • Enhancing our internal tooling to better empower Customer and Support Teams.

  • Understand and represent our users’ needs - creating personas and mapping user journeys to our flagship product, hx Renew.

  • Understand problems and opportunities through data, user research, competitor analysis, running experiments, and interactions with the business.

  • Deliver against a wider product vision, strategy and roadmap - executing with a dedicated cross-functional end-to-end product team.

  • Plan how best to approach delivering maximum impact both within a sprint and over the longer term using the resources available.

  • Coordinate across customers and hyperexponential to deliver from idea to implementation to launch - communicating the value to our users throughout the process

  • Create and manage your backlog, balancing strategic, customer, and internal work.

  • Work iteratively, using data to assess and refine your decisions.

  • Work collaboratively, leveraging your skills and the skills across the wider team to design solutions that solve tough technical challenges.

Experience and Skills

hx is far less interested in counting years over evidence of delivery, and our requirements reflect this.

The right person for this role will need:
  • Proven experience working as a Platform Product Manager with a track record of successful product delivery in technical products (ideally at a fast-scaling B2B SaaS company).

  • Demonstrable examples of working closely with engineering and design functions to build out core platform capabilities.

  • Demonstrable experience working with a technical team with a highly technical product or service within its core responsibilities.

  • A highly collaborative way of working with a heavy emphasis on teamwork and leading through influence, you empower teams to deliver the best solutions to problems and opportunities.

  • A self-starting attitude: You enjoy managing your own time and work within a high-trust, high accountability and high-support environment. You proactively drive your own personal development and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and challenges.

Bonus points for:
  • Community contributions through meet-up/conference talks, blogs or open-source Insurtech or fintech experience.

What Do We Offer?
  • £5,000 for individual and group training/conference budget.

  • 25 days’ holiday plus 8 bank holidays (33 total).

  • Company pension scheme via Penfold.

  • Mental health and therapy provision via Spectrum.life

  • Individual well-being allowance via Juno.

  • Private healthcare insurance through AXA.

  • Life Insurance and Income Protection

  • Top-spec equipment (laptop, screens, mechanical keyboards, etc).

Interview Process:
  • Talent Partner Screen (30 minutes)

  • Hiring Manager Interview (1 hour)

  • Product Demo led by the Hiring Manager (45 minutes)

  • Skills Interview (1 hour)

  • Values Interview (1 hour)

  • We Offer!

Please note that background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process to ensure compliance with our governance policies. We handle all background checks sensitively and in full compliance with relevant regulations. All applicant data will be processed in accordance with data protection regulations and our privacy policy.
