With teams based in Gloucestershire, Manchester, and London, we are expanding our platform capability and are looking for Platform Engineers to join us.

Requirements

As a Platform Engineer at Hamiltonian Dynamics, you will design, build, and operate the platforms and infrastructure that underpin our secure software systems. You’ll work closely with software engineers, architects, and stakeholders to enable reliable delivery, scalability, and operational excellence.

We welcome candidates with varied backgrounds and levels of experience - strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn matter more than ticking every box.
What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain secure, repeatable infrastructure using automation and IaC
  • Operate and improve containerised platforms and cloud environments
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows
  • Improve observability, reliability, and operational resilience
  • Collaborate across teams to evolve platform standards and tooling

Skills & Experience

Experience in one or more of the following, with openness to learning new tools:

  • Infrastructure as Code and automation (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
  • Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • CI/CD tools and modern delivery practices
  • Logging, monitoring, and tracing (e.g. Elastic Stack, Grafana, Jaeger)
  • Familiarity with CNCF tools and cloud-native best practices

Security & Location Requirements

  • UK citizen with at least 10 years UK residency
  • Must already hold high-level UK security clearance
  • Willing to work on customer site in London, up to 5 days per week

Benefits
  • Salary band: £40,000-85,000, depending on experience (we may consider more junior or more senior outside this range for the right candidate)
  • 10% Clearance Bonus
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Buy or sell up to 5 days leave per year
  • 8% employer pension contribution
  • BUPA health cover
  • Life cover of 4× salary
  • EV car scheme via salary sacrifice
  • EMI share scheme
  • Flexible working and flexi-time
  • 10 days per year training allowance

Every employee has an individual training and career development plan. We recognise that everyone learns differently and we actively support long-term growth.

Our Process

We keep things straightforward and human:

  1. A 30-minute introductory chat with our recruiter, Sarah
  2. A 1-hour Microsoft Teams interview or on-site interview with two members of the team
  3. An informal conversation with two of our Founders

We believe open, organic conversations are the best way for both sides to decide if the role is the right fit.
