Platform Engineer - IAM
Job Description
At SUSE we are building a new generation infrastructure platform for our company. Our self-organized, agile team is searching for an experienced IAM (Identity & Asset Management)
Engineer to join that exciting journey.
Together with the team you will be working on designing, building and running state of the art infrastructure rooted in code and best practices of SRE and DevOps cultures with a big focus on Agile Values and Principles.

Focus Areas
Develop, implement, deploy, and maintain identity and access management solutions and systems
Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve technical identity and access management related issues
Improve identity and access management solutions and systems for protection against evolving threats and efficiency
Contribute to the strategy and approach to accelerate and optimize the onboarding, moving, and leaving processes
Facilitate the implementation of new features on the identity platform
Participates as a member of and leads cross-functional development teams. Performs analysis of cross-functional and complex business requirements. Designs complex cross-functional solutions. Provides mentoring and guidance.
Designs, prepares, and executes improvements and validations. Sets team strategy and direction; represents team to senior management and client/customers. Develops innovative multi-team solutions to complex problems.
Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and customers. Consults with team members and other organizations, customers, and vendors on complex issues. Mentors others in the technology community; may publish or otherwise engage professionally outside of the company.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Comprehensive knowledge and experience with authentication standards and technologies such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID/OIDC
Experience in the design, deployment, and maintenance of Secrets Management (Vault), PKI, GPG, and KMS solutions
Hands-on knowledge of identity and access management best practices, procedures, and software solutions such as Okta, Univention, FreeIPA, Zitadel, authentik
Experience with identity and access management technologies, including single sign-on (SSO), two-factor authentication, privileged access management, and the zero-trust security model
Experience in standard methodologies regarding DevOps application implementations and deployment, including design patterns, release management, testing and deployment strategies
Strong Customer/ Vendor Management.
Scripting/development knowledge (Bash, Python, Go, or another modern language)
Experience with Windows, Linux and Unix-like operating systems
Experience with IaC/GitOps practices
