Produce and optimize static, motion, and UGC-style paid ads for Meta, Google, and TikTok. Own the creative testing pipeline from hypothesis through launch, performance analysis, and iteration. Collaborate with performance marketing, user acquisition, creative, and product teams to establish Recraft’s performance creative function.

Recraft is a graphic design research lab building state-of-the-art image generation models and tools for designers, illustrators, marketers, and developers.
Founded in 2022 and based in London, we build for commercial design standards: full creative control, style consistency, and native vector outputs, an API for teams who want to integrate that capability directly into their workflows, plus mobile app for those who prefer not to be distracted from the process without a computer.
Over 3 million creators across 190+ countries use Recraft. Our mission is to help everyone who works with visuals get the job done, without lowering the bar on design.
If you want to help set that standard, we'd like to hear from you.

Performance Creative Designer, Static + Motion (Mid-Level+ to Senior)

Growth at Recraft runs on creative that's tested, not guessed at. We're looking for a Performance Creative Designer who works across static and motion and moves between them depending on what the week needs: reading what's working, turning that into the next round of ads, and shipping creative that holds up on Meta, Google, and TikTok. For the right person, this is a chance to build the performance creative function at Recraft from the ground up, with Recraft Studio itself as your day-to-day production tool.

Test Weeks and Scale Weeks

The role alternates between two modes, and you need to be good at both.

  • Test weeks. Speed and volume. Many statics and rough video cuts, each built around a clear hypothesis and shipped fast, to find the idea that sells.

  • Scale weeks. Craft. Once an idea wins, you turn it into high-quality video ads that can carry real budget: tighter edits, stronger motion, cutdowns, every format and placement, and localised versions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce paid ad creative for Meta, Google, and TikTok in both modes: fast statics and rough video cuts for testing, finished video ads for scaling.

  • Make video ads that show a concrete result: product demos built from screen recordings and motion graphics, before-and-after transformations, short cinematic spots made with AI video models, and edits of creator and UGC footage.

  • Own the creative testing pipeline end to end: form a hypothesis, ship it, read the results, and iterate on winners.

  • Take a winning idea across formats: a static into motion, a 20-second spot into 6- and 15-second cutdowns, 9x16 into 4x5, 1x1 and 16x9, and English into other markets.

  • Translate performance data (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, cost per payer) into the next round of creative yourself, rather than waiting for a brief.

  • Use Recraft Studio as your primary production tool for image and video generation, and feed what you learn back to the product team building it.

  • Keep the ad creative brandbook consistent while adapting tone by placement and audience.

Who You'll Work With

You'll join the Marketing team and work closely with our Performance Marketing Manager, UA Manager, and Creative and product teams. This is a role built around bringing your own ideas to the table, not just executing against a detailed brief.

Requirements
  • 3+ years creating performance and paid-acquisition creative, with video ads as a regular part of that work.

  • A portfolio of static and video ads that actually ran, with context on what won and why.

  • Strong motion design and editing: After Effects (or similar) for type, UI, and product animation; Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut for editing; Figma or Photoshop for static.

  • Strong understanding of video ad anatomy: hooks, the first three seconds, pacing, sound-off captions, safe zones, platform specs, and policy limits.

  • Hands-on experience using AI image and video tools (such as Runway, Kling, Veo, or Seedance) in a real production workflow, including knowing where they fall short.

  • Able to work at two speeds: rough and fast when testing, polished and precise when scaling.

  • Based in the EU, Georgia, Armenia, or Serbia, with the right to work as a contractor there.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with design tools, creative SaaS, or dev tools (Canva, Picsart, Photoroom, Figma-adjacent products).

  • Vector animation or 3D skills (Blender, Cinema 4D), a real differentiator given Recraft's vector and brand-style capabilities.

  • Ad copywriting and scripting: able to write your own hooks, on-screen text, and voiceover scripts.

  • Experience briefing creators and editing UGC or creator partnership ads.

  • Sound design and music selection for short-form video.

  • In-house experience at a product company, ideally with a subscription product, rather than purely agency-side work.

  • Experience growing your own audience as a creator or influencer on Instagram or TikTok.

  • You're already a Recraft user.

What We Offer
  • A full-time contractor engagement, fully remote, with compensation that matches the seniority and ownership this role carries.

  • Real ownership of the testing pipeline, from hypothesis to shipped ad to the next iteration, not just execution against someone else's brief.

  • Range in the work: fast testing one week, high-production video the next, with budget behind the ideas that win.

  • A product built on AI image and video generation, growing fast, where your creative work has a direct, measurable line to company results.

  • The chance to be the first person to define what performance creative looks like at Recraft. Your test results become the playbook everyone after you works from.

  • Direct collaboration with our Performance Marketing, UA, Creative, and product teams.

  • A team that means it when it says it wants to build the best product in the category: people who give each other direct, useful feedback, share context openly, and step in to help without being asked.

Our Process

  2. Home assignment (90 minutes, motion)
