Why Ocado?

Here at Ocado Logistics it’s our mission to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners, developing groundbreaking technology, opening multiple sites at an accelerating rate and engaging in exciting new business partnerships around the world - changing the way the world shops, for good.

We are the beating heart of our UK business and comprise a network of cutting edge warehouses and offices across the country that ensure that we optimise the experience and use our proprietary technology across the supply chain to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. At the same time delivering bags of possibilities for our employees and a career that will ensure no two days are ever the same.

About the role:

We wouldn’t be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members - who keep our business running, our vans delivering, our customers' products picked and packed and our proprietary technology operating at optimum levels. Supporting our workforce of approximately 16,000 colleagues requires a clear, forward-thinking People Strategy backed by robust delivery discipline. We now have an opportunity for a People Strategy & Performance Manager to join our central People Strategy team at our Trident Place head office in Hatfield, taking ownership of strategic workstreams, monitoring strategy performance, and turning cross-functional insights into actionable recommendations for our leadership teams.

You will be:

  • Leading key strategic workstreams as a People Strategy & Performance Manager, translating high-level business goals into structured delivery plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes across our 16,000-strong workforce.
  • Operating the People Strategy performance framework, collaborating with People Data analytics and functional owners to track progress, evaluate risks, and ensure benefit realisation.
  • Synthesising internal workforce data, business KPIs, and external market trends to produce integrated strategic reporting, executive papers, and decision-making content for senior leadership forums.
  • Conducting external horizon scanning and benchmarking on workforce developments, emerging technologies, and logistics/retail trends to inform annual strategy planning.
  • Partnering with and constructively challenging stakeholders across the wider People function and business units to drive accountability and deliver measurable business impact without direct line authority.

About you:

  • Strong background within an HR or People function (such as People Partnering, Employee Relations, People Change, or Organisational Effectiveness) in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in translating strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, performance frameworks, and scorecards.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to interpret data from multiple sources, spot cross-functional themes, and build evidence-based recommendations.
  • Outstanding written communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports, executive decks, and papers for senior leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of constructively challenging progress and driving cross-functional delivery across diverse teams.

What you can expect to receive in return:

At Ocado we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere that is as fresh as our produce as well as an award winning recognition programme and benefits package that includes a healthy work-life balance, extensive healthcare coverage, competitive salaries, and exclusive employee discounts.
