Role:                                    People Partner / HR Advisor

Location:                             Perivale, London (UB6 7JD)– hybrid, 2-3 days a week in office

Salary:                                 £30,000 - £35,000 DOE plus extensive benefits

Contract type:                    Permanent

Employment type:             Full time

Working hours:                  Monday – Friday 37.5 hours (8am-4.30pm, 8.30am-5pm or 9am-5.30pm) – May be a requirement to be flexible with these times due to ad hoc support required for stakeholders

This is a true generalist People role which will primarily support our Ops teams, who in the most part work on site in one of our operations locations.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Build great relationships with your stakeholders, mentoring and advising them on People matters.  
  • Owning core People processes including Employee Relations, Performance & Pay Review, Engagement Initiatives, Benefits Administration and Communication updates.
  • Providing insights from Ops to support Senior People Partner and Head of People to shape the wider People Strategy and contribute to the People Roadmap.
  • Coaching managers on people issues, ranging from career development to managing difficult conversations.
  • Supporting the full employee life cycle of our Ops team including cyclical processes like performance and pay reviews.
  • Collaborating with the People Coordinator to manage operational People tasks.
  • May be required to line mentor and/or manage a People Coordinator, providing day-to-day guidance, development support, and performance oversight as needed.
  • Provide expert guidance on People policies, employment law, and best practices; develop, review, and update policies to align with legislation; and ensure effective communication and consistent implementation in partnership with managers and stakeholders.
  • Supporting Onboarding/Offboarding and continuing to evolve these processes.
  • Employee Relations - supporting managers with probations, absence management, performance management, investigations, disciplinaries and grievance cases. Including some complex cases.
  • Supporting managers and team members with all Family Friendly leave requests. 
  • Coordination of Talent needs with the relevant Talent team member. 
  • Coordination of Development & Wellbeing needs with the relevant Wellbeing & Development team member.
  • Designing, organising and delivering learning/training workshops where relevant in collaboration with the Development & Wellbeing team.
  • Support the People team in embedding succession planning and talent mapping.
  • Supporting initiatives in line with the roll out and delivery of our Diversity & Inclusion strategy. 
  • Monitoring our Engagement scores/metrics and supporting the rollout of Engagement initiatives.  
  • Provide support for business inductions as needed, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new employees.
  • And lots of other exciting projects along the way!

Who are we looking for?

  • A strong awareness and knowledge of Employee Relations and employment law
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills 
  • Ability to juggle a range of tasks effectively with excellent stakeholder management skills - this role is people centric first and foremost
  • Results focussed and constantly aims to deliver within agreed KPIs
  • An interest and eye for spotting opportunities to better processes and the initiative to implement changes
  • Energy, passion, a self-starter, and a sleeves-rolled-up mentality
  • Have the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business
  • To be tech savvy with a passion for learning more in this area
  • Strong experience in a similar HR Advisor/People Partner role, preferably in a high growth business environment
  • A CIPD qualification is great, but not essential for this role
