The EMEA People Operations and Reward Lead will deliver the functional strategy of Payroll and Total Rewards in the Region. This leadership role provides the expertise of the region in the areas of payroll, compensation, and benefits, ensuring practices are market relevant and compliant.
Provides leadership, direction, and support to local team members with a strong focus on continuous process improvement, project, and vendor management.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Represents the region as the subject matter expert in the areas of Payroll, Benefit and Compensation.
  • Lead staff, providing daily guidance and issue resolution by answering questions, providing alternatives, and facilitating decision making.
  • Identify and recommend process and productivity improvement opportunities within the Payroll and Total Rewards function.
  • Works collaboratively with key internal and external partners.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

Payroll

  • Manages the complete Payroll process in the UK and Ireland using Cloudpay.
  • In partnership with the HR operations teams, participates in the development, implementation, and administration of Payroll and Time Tracking & Absence (PATT) systems and business processes.
  • Supports and partners with HRIS on the optimization of Workday for the region.
  • Partners with management to continuously improve pay processes and system configuration to ensure effective workflows. Continuously works to automate and enhance Payroll systems and processes. Ensures that employees are paid correctly and on time while operating in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as other applicable regulations.
  • Manages generation of payroll related reports and data while ensuring compliance with all applicable company and government regulations.
  • Ensures accurate accounting for all payroll, payroll deductions and corporate payroll cash account in compliance with company policy and local rules and regulations.
  • Functions as representative for payroll during audits. Assists internal and external auditors as well as other company finance, tax, and treasury partners with payroll related information.

Total Rewards

  • In partnership with Global Total Rewards function participates in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefit programs.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of regional existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives at the regional level.
  • Provides advice to regional staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations aligned with corporate plans, programs, and operating models.
  • Works with the Total Rewards function to recommend creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
  • Partners with the Total Rewards function to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Oversees Benefit Enrolment processes, both ongoing and annual Open Enrolment. Participates in renewal discussions for EMEA benefit programs to enable communication and execution of benefit plan updates/changes, etc.
  • Handles benefit plan compliance requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with local laws and regulations.

Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field and six years of progressively responsible experience in global payroll, benefit or employee compensation plans and program; equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of all country and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
  • Experience with the use of Workday core, payroll, or time tracking, strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
  • Must exercise confidentiality, tact, diplomacy, and independent judgment in the performance of duties.
  • High level of honesty and integrity. Strong customer service skills, including ability to work with all types of employees and to respond promptly, thoroughly, and accurately to requests and inquiries.
