Hybrid position: working 3 days a week from our London office (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday) on a fixed-term 12 month contract.

Requirements

As the sole People Manager at Blink, you’ll be responsible for managing all areas of the people function, including the end to end employee lifecycle and advising and coaching managers on employee relations and performance management initiatives. You'll act as the first port of call for all HR matters, working closely with both managers and employees. As a fast-growing scale up, we are looking for someone who can help us design, deliver and iterate best-in-class processes and operations, with a focus on inclusion, frictionless experience and efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR-related queries, offering guidance on policies, procedures, and employment law.
  • Provide tailored advice on employee relations issues, including performance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Support managers with coaching and guidance to ensure effective people management practices.
  • Stay on top of current employment legislation and industry standards, implementing policy updates and adapting advice where required to ensure compliance. 
  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring processes such as payroll coordination, benefits administration, and employment contracts are executed seamlessly.
  • Maintain and update HR systems and employee records, ensuring accuracy. 
  • Drive efficiency by streamlining people operations workflows and introducing process improvements where necessary.
  • Support on talent acquisition initiatives when required.
  • Manage our office spaces and employee Health and Safety. 

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in a HR Manager or similar role, ideally within a fast-paced tech environment.
  • Can be in our London office 3 days a week (currently Monday, Wednesday & Thursday). 
  • Has solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices, with the ability to apply these pragmatically.
  • Is comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working at a start-up   
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the business.
  • Is a proactive problem solver and enjoys being hands-on. 
  • Has a proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change independently.
