Company Description: Systemiq is a system-change company committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement by transforming markets and business models across five key systems: nature and food, materials and circularity, energy, urban areas, and sustainable finance.

As a certified B Corp, we combine strategic advisory with high-impact, on-the-ground work, partnering with business, finance, policymakers and civil society to deliver system change. With offices across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, we are dedicated exclusively to sustainability-focused work.

About the People Team

Our People Team exists to develop systems change leaders: people who drive change within Systemiq and carry that capability into the wider world. We build fair, evidence-based frameworks for performance and growth, equip leaders to make sound talent decisions, and create an environment where colleagues can do their best work sustainably.

Position

As a People Experience Partner, you will be the day-to-day People Partner for leaders and Associates across Systemiq's global team, owning the delivery of our core people processes and employee relations casework. You will report to the Head of People Experience and work closely with the wider People team.

You will bring empathy, sound judgement and a customer-oriented mindset to help our Associates thrive and build sustainable careers. This is a full-time, permanent role based in London, with a hybrid working pattern and occasional travel.

What You Will Do

Your work spans three areas: partnering with leaders on talent, leading our core people processes and managing employee relations. Across all three, you will bring a continuous improvement mindset and help pilot new initiatives that strengthen how we develop talent and leaders.

Partner with Leadership

  • Act as the go-to partner for Development Managers, Directors and Partners on people processes, talent topics and individual cases, working alongside the Head of People Experience on the most senior and sensitive matters.
  • Build manager capability by coaching leaders to run performance and development conversations themselves, rather than running those conversations on their behalf, including addressing underperformance whilst also recognising and developing top performers.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of global people processes such as performance reviews, engagement surveys and feedback loops, and contribute to their design, and run the communications, briefings and training that help leaders and colleagues engage with them.
  • Build and analyse people data and reporting, such as engagement scores and performance trends, to surface insights, shape talent recommendations and improve our processes.
  • Maintain and improve the playbooks, templates and guidance that help leaders make sound talent decisions. Draft new guidance where gaps are observed.
  • Support colleagues and leaders across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and probation to leave, return to work and exits.

Manage Employee Relations

  • Manage employee relations cases end to end across multiple jurisdictions, balancing compliance with empathy and working closely with People Operations. Escalate complex, senior or high-risk matters to the Head of People Experience and work with external legal counsel where needed.
  • Help embed consistent, people-first practices across diverse legal and cultural contexts.

What We Are Looking For

Essentials

  • A minimum of four years in an HR generalist, HR Business Partner or People Advisory role, including direct experience managing employee relations casework.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law and practice, with the ability to get up to speed quickly on new jurisdictions, stay on top of legal requirements and work effectively with local counsel. We are currently operating in UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Brazil, Indonesia and Kenya.
  • A clear and structured communicator, confident building trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, influencing senior leaders and able to hold a clear position under pressure.
  • Analytical: uses data and evidence to shape recommendations and decisions.
  • Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day work, from drafting and research to data analysis, and open to adopting new tools as they are introduced.
  • Proactive and organised, able to run several processes and cases in parallel, and role models giving and receiving feedback.
  • Handles confidential information with sound judgement and discretion.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in international, high-performing organisations, ideally in consulting or mission-driven sectors.
  • Experience working with employer of record providers.
  • Experience with HR information systems and engagement platforms like HiBob and CultureAMP amongst others.

Diversity & Inclusion
At Systemiq, we absolutely believe diverse perspectives are essential to driving system change. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where people feel respected, supported and able to do their best work.
