People Experience Co-ordinator (6 month fixed term contract)

Hybrid in London or Leeds, United Kingdom

The company

Imagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That's the world we're building at iwoca. Small businesses aren't just statistics – they're the heartbeat of our communities, the character of our high streets, and the engine of our economy. Since 2012, we've revolutionised how these businesses access finance, turning what was once a lengthy, frustrating process into something remarkable: funding that's fast, flexible, and actually works for modern businesses.

Our impact speaks for itself: we've provided billions in funding to more than 150,000 businesses across Europe, making us one of the continent's leading fintech innovators. But we're just getting started. Our mission? To empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve.

We combine cutting-edge technology and data science with genuine human understanding to make finance feel less like a barrier and more like a superpower. Whether it's managing cash flow or seizing unexpected opportunities, we ensure businesses get the funds they need – often within minutes.

The role

We’re looking for a People Experience (PX) Coordinator to join our People Operations team for a 6 month fixed term contract. The role will include:

  • Coordinating  onboarding for our new iwocans. You'll take care of everything from their background checks to their new starter kits, so that everything goes seamlessly for them in their first few days

  • Assisting in maintaining an accurate HR database (BambooHR), including data entry and regular audits

  • Carrying out all the necessary administration for offboarding. Ensuring exit interviews are booked in and tracked

  • Working with Finance and our People Partners to ensure that iwocans get paid on time, every time, by supporting our payroll process

  • Answering queries from iwocans either directly or through our ticketing system.

  • Working across both our UK & German entities, growing your experience with global people processes.

If you are interested in getting some experience in recruitment, there’s also the opportunity to work with our Talent team.

The team

The People Operations team mission is to attract, develop and retain a team of high performers who truly love being part of iwoca . The PX team handles the nuts and bolts of our entire employee journey, from onboarding and offboarding to managing background checks and visa paperwork. They also take care of our HR systems like BambooHR and Peakon, update policies, and manage our benefits and payroll administrator. They are our first line of support for most People Ops matters.

The requirements
  • You’ve got experience in an administration or coordination role within a Talent/ HR function, and you are confident working with a HRIS / ATS system (we use Ashby and BambooHR)

  • You handle data with accuracy and are confident in creating and managing reports, conducting data audits, and ensuring data integrity. When handling HR data, you are sensitive to the importance of confidentiality.

  • You can work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • You have a passion for improving or building processes, and making them more efficient.

The salary

We expect to pay from £30,000 - £35,000 for this role in London or £26,500-30,000 in Leeds . But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

The culture

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the professional development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, and encourage you to explore new areas of interest to help us innovate and improve our products and services.

The offices

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a great place to work:

  • Offices in London, Leeds, Berlin and Frankfurt with plenty of drinks and snacks.

  • Events and clubs, like bingo, comedy nights, yoga classes, football, etc.

The benefits
  • Flexible working hours

  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership

  • A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents.

  • 25 days’ holiday per year, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave

  • Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support.

  • 3% Pension contributions on total earnings

  • Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.

  • Electric car scheme and cycle to work scheme

  • Two company retreats a year, we’ve been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield.

And to make sure we all keep learning, we offer:

  • A learning and development budget for everyone.

  • Company-wide talks with internal and external speakers.

  • Access to learning platforms like Treehouse.

What you need to know about the London Tech Scene

London isn't just a hub for established businesses; it's also a nursery for innovation. Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
