Job Description

Working Model – This hybrid role combines working from the local office with opportunities for remote working. Occasional work-related travel may be required.

Employment Type - Full-time / permanent or fixed term considered

About the role

As People Advisor and HR generalist for Belgium and the Netherlands, you will be part of an exciting time as we continue to evolve and align our HR services and processes. You will coordinate and deliver reliable, people-focused HR operations across the entire employee lifecycle. You will combine strong operational and administrative expertise with practical advisory support, whilst developing, maintaining and cascading local processes, policies and requirements and guiding managers and employees in their appropriate use.

You will be part of the wider HR Operational team supporting Central Europe within the Ramboll HR People Advisory community. Working closely with colleagues across countries and functions, you will help develop, strengthen and align HR services while adapting global practices to local needs.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day HR operational support for both Belgium and the Netherlands across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent service.
  • Build collaborative relationships with managers and employees, providing practical guidance on HR processes, policies and local requirements.
  • Coordinate local activities linked to company-wide people programmes, including performance and salary review cycles, talent processes, employee engagement and organisational change.
  • Collaborate with the Senior People Partner and HR Business Partner on employee relations matters, supporting case coordination and appropriate local follow-up.
  • Support collaboration with Global Payroll and the external payroll provider by contributing local knowledge, information and actions that must be handled in-country.
  • Monitor the application of HR policies and local requirements, and support the development or updating of local policies, procedures, handbooks and working practices.
  • Maintain accurate data in our systems, support HR reporting and use insights to identify issues and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Improve and document HR processes, contributing to efficient, transparent and employee-friendly ways of working.
  • Navigate a matrix organisation effectively, ensuring appropriate stakeholder consultation, communication and governance.
  • Keep informed and up to date about relevant HR developments, employment practices and regulatory requirements in both Belgium and the Netherlands and share knowledge with the wider team.
  • Contribute to business and HR projects and collaborate with colleagues across Ramboll.

About You

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree with a specialisation in Human Resources, Law or another relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in an HR generalist, HR operations or People Advisory role, ideally within an international organisation.
  • Ideally preferred a good working knowledge of Belgium and Dutch employment law and HR requirements. Willingness to acquire and develop a good working knowledge of Belgium and Dutch employment law and HR requirements.
  • Professional written and spoken English.
  • Ideally fluency in French and/or Dutch.
  • Strong operational judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities reliably.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with employees and managers at different levels in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a practical, service-minded approach.
  • A sound understanding of confidentiality, ethics and compliance in HR work.
  • Ability to work with or willingness to learn to work with Belgian and Dutch national systems.
