We are now looking to further integrate technology into our work, and to further integrate actuarial and investment advice to enhance the client experience and drive efficiency.
We are looking for a Senior Investment Consultant to join our 10-strong investment consulting team which is part of the wider Pensions Consulting business to help provide a great service to our long-standing DB clients as well as new business. You will provide investment advisory services to a portfolio of mainly sub-£150m private sector DB pensions investment clients and contribute to the wider development of Capita’s investment and pensions consulting proposition.
You will be one of three senior investment consultants in a “hands-on” role supported by consultants, analysts and asset-transfer specialists. If you would like to have big positive personal impact, this role is for you!

Job Description:

Key responsibilities

  • Builds and manages relationships with clients
  • Services as the lead consultant for an agreed number of clients
  • Manages day-to-day client needs but also anticipates the changing needs of clients and promotes services to pro-actively to meet these needs
  • Ensures that work is managed commercially with robust project management across all phases of client work: Marketing, scoping, forecasting, service delivery, billing, de-brief/closedown.
  • Actively supports and contributes to achieving practice area business plan
  • Manages technical areas of funding and investment consulting as agreed with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and/or other business leaders. Includes but is not limited to carrying out investment strategy/manager/product research as required

What Are We Looking For

Essential

  • Someone with an extensive DB pensions investment consulting experience
  • Completed IMC
  • FCA-authorised to give investment advice
  • IFoA/CFA qualified (or other relevant qualification)
  • Needs to be very familiar with the industry and regulatory environment.
  • Needs to take the initiative and provide robust challenge to the CIO/others
  • Needs to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues. A particular focus will be collaborating with other investment consultants and Scheme Actuaries to develop a ‘best of Capita’ house approach to Funding and Investment issues which is applied consistently across our client base.
  • Needs to be ready to pick up a portfolio of interesting responsibilities alongside client work as part of a small team e.g. strategy/product research, a practice area specialism and/or line management.
  • Techology-driven consulting: Someone who is confident in using industry apps/tools to deliver an engaging, timely, accurate and efficient service to clients and is ready to champion this approach

Desirable

  • Non-DB investment consulting experience (e.g. DC investments, DB actuarial etc)
  • Qualified by experience
