This position can be based from one of our offices in Ireland or Germany.

As a Payroll Specialist (part-time role), you will play a vital role within our People & Workplace Team, serving as the primary contact for employees on all payroll-related matters. You’ll work in a team and take ownership of two of our international offices. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with our People Operations team, driving continuous improvement of HR processes to ensure a seamless and efficient employee experience at Personio.

“What You’ll Do”

  • Be the Payroll Point of Contact: 

    • Act as the primary contact for payroll-related matters for up to three payrolls, collaborating on processes in other markets as part of an individual contributor role.

    • Partner with the HR team to address employee questions regarding payroll and related topics.

    •  Respond to payroll-related Jira tickets, providing accurate and timely support to employee inquiries.

    • Assist in payroll-related aspects of onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for employees.

  • Prepare Monthly Payroll: 

    • Take ownership of preparing internal payroll on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    • Serve as the main point of contact for external payroll providers, overseeing daily operations, handling special consultation cases, and driving vendor management and service improvements.

  • Contribute to Total Rewards and Benefits: 

    • Play a key role in supporting initiatives and processes related to total rewards and employee benefits.

    • Handle correspondence with health insurance companies, tax offices, legal authorities, and other relevant institutions.

  • Be a Personio Product Expert: 

    • Gain deep expertise in the Personio product to deliver the best possible employee experience and contribute insights to enhance internal payroll processes.

”What You Need to Succeed”

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in preparing international payroll and are familiar with payroll processes in markets such as Spain, Ireland, and the UK. Experience with German, Dutch, or US payrolls is a plus.

  • You hold a degree in business, accounting, finance, or HR, or have equivalent experience in a related field with a focus on payroll and HR processes.

  • You are knowledgeable in payroll, compensation, benefits, and taxation processes and have a solid understanding of HR-related topics.

  • You have experience leveraging technology to optimize payroll systems and HR processes, customizing HRMS platforms to serve as a single source of truth for employee data.

  • You are customer-focused and process-oriented, always looking for ways to enhance workflows and deliver exceptional employee experiences.

  • You are organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously without losing sight of the finer details.

  • You thrive in a collaborative, global environment, valuing teamwork and open feedback while seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.

  • You are a strong communicator with excellent English skills (C1), both spoken and written. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
