The Opportunity

FICO has an opportunity for a motivated Payroll Consultant to join our dedicated Global Payroll team reporting directly to the EMEA Payroll Manager. You’ll be providing payroll support to our EMEA region consisting of South Africa, Lithuania, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, UAE, Hungary, Portugal, Turkey and the UK. What You’ll Contribute 

  • Responsible for end-to-end payroll process of assigned EMEA payrolls in coordination with out-sourced provider. Timely and accurate input of required information from the HRIS system and email instructions.

  • Be responsible for ensuring payroll processes comply with local, national, and industry-specific tax laws, labour regulations, and reporting requirements.

  • Responsible for the tracking and reconciliation of employee deductions and earnings including, but not limited to deductions for employee benefits, local taxes, and earnings for base salaries, bonuses, and commissions.

  • Define, document and optimise the payroll processes, ensuring alignment with the organisation's payroll policies and compliance requirements. Develop a set of metrics to measure delivery, accuracy, and other measures.

  • Ensure accurate reporting to taxing authorities of taxable wages, including both cash and non-cash items such as relocation expenses, insurance, stock-based compensation, auto allowances and other reimbursements that may be taxable in accordance with local laws.

  • Analyze complex pay transactions, identify issues that exist and work with various internal operational teams to identify root cause of payroll system issues, assess risk and implement mitigation plans to minimize or eliminate future occurrence.

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to manage payroll-related queries, tax related items, benefits administration, and employee data integrity across all regions.

  • Assist with the workers’ compensation and external audits as needed.

  • Identify internal audit protocols which support payroll and data entry accuracy.

  • Ability to manage and lead payroll related projects and operational initiatives.

What We’re Seeking

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstration of high-quality outputs with immaculate attention to detail.

  • Proactive strategic thinker, identifying programs and projects before issues surface.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify root cause resolution and initiative to work through complex difficult scenarios.

  • A strong collaborator with the ability to work under own direction and prioritise effectively.

  • Any CPP, CIPP or Global Payroll Management Certificate (GPMI) is desirable.

  • Advanced Excel skills to perform complex analysis and reporting (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) are desirable.

  • Payroll Application experience (such as Workday) is desirable.
