Job Description

We're looking for a Payments Partnerships Manager to accelerate Wise's global expansion by building and managing strategic payment partnerships across acquirers and card networks that directly impact our ability to serve millions of customers worldwide. You will be the driving force behind managing acquiring and card related partnerships that enables our customers to spend their money seamlessly across borders while saving on fees. This isn't just about managing partnerships - you'll be building the card payment ecosystem that powers Wise's growth, while bringing together product, commercial strategy, and regulatory compliance to unlock new markets and capabilities

What you'll be doing:

• Lead strategic partnership management with acquiring and card network partners, negotiating commercial terms that directly impact our unit economics and market competitiveness

• Research and launch local payment scheme partnerships, focusing on opportunities that will drive the most customer adoption and revenue

• Monitor partnership performance and continuously improve our payment infrastructure based on what's working and what isn't

• Partner with product and engineering teams to turn partnership deals into product features that customers can actually use

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years in financial partnerships, payments, or fintech with real experience in acquiring, card issuance, or payment infrastructure

• You're good at negotiating deals and have actually secured good terms with payment providers, card schemes, and banks

• You understand how payments work - card issuance, acquiring, OCT processing, BIN sponsorships, and compliance requirements

• You can analyse partnership opportunities and make smart decisions about which ones to prioritise

• You've managed relationships across different countries and know how to work with varying regulations

• You're comfortable working independently and can take projects from idea to completion

It would be ideal, but not essential if you:

• Have worked at a fast-growing fintech or payments company

• Bring deep card network experience from both acquiring and issuing
