THE ROLE

As a Payments Optimization Analyst, reporting to the Senior Payments Manager, you will play a pivotal role in improving payment processing efficiency, positively impacting both the customer experience and the company's profitability. By leveraging data-driven insights, you'll analyse payment data, identify optimization opportunities, and collaborate across teams to implement strategies that lower costs, increase approval rates, and enhance customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyse payment processing workflows to detect inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise payment routing to reduce costs and improve approval rates.
  • Work with large datasets related to payment transactions, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies that affect payment performance.
  • Create reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as success rates, transaction costs, and customer payment preferences.
  • Build models to forecast the financial implications of various payment optimization strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management on payment optimization initiatives and their impact on business outcomes.
  • Conduct A/B testing on payment gateways, methods, and new technologies to find the best solutions for the business.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data or business analytics, ideally within payments, fintech, or e-commerce sectors.
  • Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server, BigQuery, or similar platforms).
  • Experience with data visualisation tools like Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and business strategies.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
