Keeping our community secure on Depop requires both industry-leading tools and operational processes that enable us to protect our users.
The Payment Fraud & Risk team at Depop support our community by protecting transactions and payments for our users, well building scalable solutions to protect Depop from fraudulent charges.
We need a dedicated analyst to help evolve our fraud prevention from a reactive to a proactive posture. Currently, our core fraud data is fragmented across isolated, non-PII sources and is not easily accessible for self-service analysis in tools like Looker. This develops a dependency on other teams and prevents us from conducting the in-depth, proactive investigations needed to get ahead of emerging threats.

Fraud System Performance:
Analysing trends and taking ownership of rule-based analysis.
Improving the accuracy of our existing fraud tools
Leading the creation and testing of new rules to proactively combat emerging threats.
Unifying & accessing data: Navigating our disparate data sources (e.g., Stripe, Databricks) to query and consolidate the critical information needed for improved automation.
Using data to highlight where mitigation should be placed
Crafting and supporting proposals to help protect users
Identify and remove fraudulent accounts from the platform
Investigate & respond to Fraud spikes and incidents.
The Skills required for this role:
Experience in fraud and Risk analytics
High Proficiency in SQL and the ability to work with large, sophisticated and fragmented datasets
