What you’ll do
The Global Head of Tax is a critical member of the finance leadership team and has full responsibility for the global tax function. It focuses on international tax management, including payments, tax audits, and designing and executing tax planning strategies. They will also be responsible for overseeing the firm's global tax strategy, compliance, and reporting.
The successful candidate will provide effective tax advice on multiple geographies around the world as we expand our footprint. They will have strong working relationships with executive leaders, the wider finance team, and other key functions such as Legal and People. They will act as a business partner, ensuring that the tax function is seen as proactive, adding value by understanding the business drivers, objectives and goals, thereby contributing to maximize the company performance wherever possible. The Global Head of Tax will bring a forward-thinking approach, implementing best practices to develop a market-leading and best-in-class tax department with the most up-to-date and robust processes and procedures in line with local and industry regulations. They will possess technical knowledge on transfer pricing, indirect tax, permanent establishment issues and data reporting requirements.
The Global Head of Tax will be tasked with minimizing tax liabilities and related risk while ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations and allowing for continued innovation and growth. They will work closely with senior leadership and other departments to integrate tax planning into the broader business strategy.
The successful candidate will engage extensively with the global tax team, senior firm leadership, external investors, and our equity partners (PMDs). This position demands a highly dynamic individual who can effectively communicate complex concepts across various levels to multiple interested parties simultaneously. The Global Head of Tax must exhibit high integrity and possess the ability to take decisive positions while navigating ambiguity and balancing the interests of the firm, investors, and PMDs.

This is a full time Partner position. This position will ideally be based out of our London office but can be flexible. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

- Develop and implement a cohesive global tax strategy for the firm, with a strategic eye meant to revise and communicate policies and programs to the firm globally.
- Oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the firm, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead and manage the global tax team to provide support and guidance on tax matters across various jurisdictions.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the implications to senior management, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions.
- Oversee and add guidance to the firm’s equity program globally.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors on complex tax issues and audits.
- Develop tax-efficient structures for international operations and transactions.
- Ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements relating to tax matters.
- Partner with finance and accounting teams to integrate tax planning into the overall business strategy and financial reporting processes.
- Provide expert tax advice to senior management on a variety of US and international tax issues, including transfer pricing, tax treaties, and cross-border financing.
- Manage and resolve tax controversies and audits with tax authorities.

What you’ll need
- Extensive experience with a minimum of 15 years* as a multinational tax executive within a shared services model, preferably within a professional services firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. JD in Tax and/or certification in related specialty area(s) preferred.
- Proven ability to navigate a highly complex, global tax environment.
- Strong negotiation skills, and experience problem solving with global taxing authorities.
- Knowledge of how to structure appropriate controls for equity schemes.
- Highly adept at communicating complex, technical topics to a variety of stakeholders with non-technical jargon.
- High energy style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a very fast-paced environment.
- Understand and adapt to complex environments and situations. Skilled at defining, communicating, motivating, and inspiring change at executive levels and across the broader community of stakeholders.
- View problems from the ‘big picture POV’, recognizing critical areas to drive into more detail. Quickly structure approaches to solve complex problems. Balanced and flexible, anticipates and changes direction as necessary.
