Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for a paralegal to join a dynamic, fast-paced and expanding international legal team in an exciting industry. This position will suit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is (i) keen to continue their legal career in-house, in a supportive and vibrant environment; and (ii) has an interest in sport and online gaming.

Principal duties, under the supervision of the Commercial Legal Team, include overseeing contractual matters with existing and future suppliers, participating in RFP and due diligence reviews of suppliers, providing commercial counsel on key strategic initiatives, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing and new commercial relationships, assisting on licensing matters and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and assisting with negotiation of terms and conditions and a variety of commercial contracts, including supply of services agreements, supply of goods agreements, marketing/advertising agreements, sponsorship agreements, brand licence agreements, confidentiality agreements and heads of terms and letters of intent.
• Reviewing promotional terms and conditions for use in advertising to ensure compliance with consumer laws.
• Drafting contract amendments and both reviewing and collating precedents.
• Intellectual property registration.
• Guided litigation support in small claims and low value fast-track litigation.
• Litigation support on larger scale litigation support, where necessary.
• Working closely with and supporting the lawyers in the commercial legal team.
• Conducting legal research, where necessary.
• Assisting with the continual development of in-house precedents.
• Assisting the commerical legal team with ad hoc general administrative matters.

Qualifications

• Previous paralegal experience desirable.
• Experience of reviewing and drafting commercial contracts desirable.
• Some litigation experience/knowledge desirable.
• Advertising/marketing experience desirable.
• Thrives working in a large team but is also comfortable working alone on smaller projects.
• The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across the business.
• Flexible in approach and willingness to take on a varied workload.
• Ability to work proactively and feel confident working with autonomy.
• An appetite to develop legal skills and knowledge.
• Be business focused and practical.
• Ability to manage a variety of matters at any one time.
• Have a genuine interest in media, technology, intellectual property and gaming.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and highly regulated environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational skills.
