This role will report into our Head of Legal. This role will be based in Leeds on a hybrid basis with time split between home and office working. Travel will occasionally be required subject to business demands. 

 

The objectives and purpose of the Legal team are as follows: 

  • To champion and embed best-in-class commercial processes, systems and capabilities that are essential to winning new business, balancing clients’ requirements with our commercial objectives. 

  • To manage exposure to risk through optimal contract drafting. 

  • To provide trusted, independent legal advice and strategy relevant to the CFA business. 

  • To uphold and champion CFA’s governance. 

 

What you will be doing 

As Paralegal you will support our teams with broad ranging, commercially focused legal support that will ultimately enable the success and growth of our business, drive compliance and limit risk exposure.   

 

Key accountabilities: 

  • Work to deliver proactive, efficient support to a range of stakeholders on a variety of legal topics across multiple businesses and jurisdictions. 

  • Review agreements, contracts and other legal documents with a view on risk management. 

  • Provide input to contract negotiations. 

  • Think creatively to find solutions which support the success of our business. 

  • Contribute to the evaluation of processes and procedures, identifying risks and non-compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. 

  • Build and maintain networks internally and occasionally externally. 

  • Build knowledge of the industries in which we operate and keep abreast of trends and developments. 

  • Manage your own day to day legal workload. 

  • Provide high quality legal input, ensure that all legal matters are properly supported. 

  • Promote best practice within Lenvi. 

 

We are looking for a dedicated legal professional with relevant training. We would expect a good level of familiarity with general legal principles and procedures of UK law. Alongside the above, we are looking for an individual who desires a broad ranging role that offers multi discipline work and who can manage competing workload demands, working semi-autonomously within our team. 

 

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity. 

  • Legal qualification, with NQ. 

  • Understanding of commercial law. 

  • Robust IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

  • Strong drafting skills coupled with high levels of attention to detail. 

  • Knowledge of data protection legislation. 

  • Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal, adapting style to suit audience. 

  • Confident and assertive while remaining approachable. 

  • Adaptable and able to take on variety of tasks. 

  • Ability to work on own initiative.
