eBay is seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, business-focused individual to support an international role located in Richmond, UK. In this challenging role, you will be an important support member of the legal team providing support to eBay’s global legal team as well as to our internal business clients in connection with commercial contracting. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about working in one of e-commerce’s world premier in-house Legal Departments.

Job Description and Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will assist in reviewing all contracts submitted from our North American, EU and APAC regions and assign to the appropriate legal representative globally (based on internally developed guidelines). In addition, you will draft and negotiate various amendments, lower risk agreements and statements of work. You should have excellent communication skills and a proactive work-ethic. The successful candidate will need to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, must take the initiative  in identifying areas of need and in generating and following-through on action plans.  You will assist  in streamlining the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the department to facilitate meaningful change for our internal business clients.

This is a contractor position for 12 months initially (but may be subject to increase). This position will require extensive interaction with other members of the legal team, internal business clients and third-party providers. This is a hybrid working position, where you will be required to go into the Richmond office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review daily contract submissions from our NA, EU and APAC businesses;
  • Analyse and assign contracts based on legal risk, support function, language and other guidelines;
  • Review and negotiate contracts such as amendments,  statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, etc.;
  • Train and educate our business partners to understand the contracts submission process;
  • Work closely with legal colleagues on the development and implementation of new commercial contracting policies and procedures; and
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have 2-7 years experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts.
  • An Undergraduate  Degree in Law, the GDL or equivalent;
  • An LPC, CILEX qualification, or similar is beneficial, but not essential;
  • Experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts;
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision;
