Consulting Seniority: Consultant - Manager
Day rate: £300-500/day (outside IR35)
Project duration: 2-6 months
Location: Hybrid in London (and across the UK)
We’re supporting a consultancy with upcoming local government projects focused on organisation design, strategy, business case development, project management and PMO support.
They're looking for experienced consultants with a strong backgrounds in public sector or local government transformation (LGR). The ideal candidates will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, shaping recommendations, supporting delivery, and helping clients move from strategy through to practical implementation.

Tasks
* Support organisation design and strategy work across local government transformation projects, including current-state assessment, future-state design and recommendations
* Develop business cases, options appraisals and supporting analysis to help senior stakeholders make informed decisions
* Provide project management and PMO support, including project plans, RAID logs, status reporting, governance materials and tracking of actions, risks, dependencies and benefits
Requirements
* An independent consultant
* Experience in organisation design, operating model design, strategy or transformation, ideally within local government or the wider public sector
* Strong business case development skills, including options analysis, benefits cases and clear senior stakeholder reporting
* Strong project management and PMO experience, with the ability to coordinate workstreams, manage governance and support delivery in complex stakeholder environments
