Operations Supervisor 

Salary: c£34,000 per annum plus bonus scheme and other Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible to suit business needs) 

Location:  Hull, Yorkshire & Lincoln

What will you be doing?

  • Manage training and assessments on all plant and vehicles

  • Conduct Risk Assessments across all operational functions at the depot

  • Deliver induction training for new starters with a specific focus on drivers to enhance the onboarding process

  • Monitor and review any accidents and manage incident investigations, working collaboratively with R&A Advisors

  • Ensure HAVs testing for sites

  • Complete driver observations and conduct driver early morning gate checks

  • Deliver manual handling and any ad-hoc training

  • Support managers in driving compliance with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Attend H&S meetings reporting on current activity and make suggestions for improvement

  • Conduct annual reviews of Risk Assessments and CoSHH Assessments or following a change in legislation or Veolia operating policy

  • Visit customer sites to support any safety concerns raised by frontline employees

  • Conduct monthly management site checks

  • Lead specific training sessions on areas of improvement identified

  • Improve turnaround times of refresher training where required to remain compliant


What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience of operating within an operational capacity with focus on H&S within a similar industry

  • An understanding of Environmental legislation and experience of dealing with the EA

  • Strong and effective communication skills communicating with people of all levels

  • Ability to organise resources to meet operational demands

  • Managing transport compliance 

  • IT Skills - MS Office 2000 and the ability to adapt to Google

  • LGV Class 2 licence, NEBOSH or IOSH trained - desirable
