We’re currently looking for an Operations Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our UK Receiving Center. This role will be responsible for ensuring the team operates safely, efficiently, and consistently while meeting our standards for quality, productivity, service levels, and security.

As the senior onsite operational leader, you will independently manage daily priorities, staffing, workflow, performance, and operational escalations while maintaining close alignment with the Director of Operations. You will play a critical role in establishing strong operating routines, developing the team, solving problems, and continuously improving the operation as we scale our presence in the UK and Europe.

You’ll report to the Director of Operations and work from our UK location.

Onsite Requirement: This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the day-to-day operational lead for the UK Receiving Center, independently managing daily priorities, staffing, workflow, service levels, quality, and operational escalations.

  • Manage, train, coach, and motivate the UK Receiving Team while creating a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.

  • Own daily operational performance, including volume, throughput, productivity, backlog/WIP, quality, SLA attainment, and attendance.

  • Lead daily operational huddles, review performance against targets, identify risks, and establish clear actions and ownership.

  • Independently adjust staffing, work allocation, and operational priorities based on incoming volume, backlog, service-level requirements, and operational constraints.

  • Evaluate team member performance and output to ensure productivity, quality, security, and company standards are consistently achieved.

  • Identify emerging capacity, service, quality, or operational risks and escalate issues early with clear facts, business impact, and recommended countermeasures.

  • Lead structured problem solving and root-cause analysis for operational issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, workflow, ergonomics, and overall operational performance.

  • Develop and maintain standard work, SOPs, visual management, training materials, and daily operating routines.

  • Identify and develop new operational metrics as business needs evolve.

  • Support capacity planning, workforce planning, and operational readiness as volumes grow.

  • Develop the capabilities of team members through regular coaching, feedback, cross-training, and development planning.

  • Listen to team member feedback and resolve issues or conflicts constructively, escalating when necessary.

  • Act as a knowledgeable and accessible resource for team members and provide clear direction during operational challenges.

  • Establish effective communication channels to ensure information flows efficiently into, within, and out of the Receiving Center.

  • Partner closely with Operations leadership and cross-functional teams including Customer Service, Logistics, Security, HR, Quality, and other operational functions.

  • Serve as the senior onsite operational point of contact and make sound operational decisions when the Director of Operations is not physically present.

  • Support the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans to achieve company and departmental goals.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and serve as the first point of contact for incidents, injuries, and safety concerns.

  • Lead by example and champion company policies and standards, including safety, attendance, security, quality, and operational discipline.

  • Safely handle and account for valuable customer merchandise, ensuring its security, traceability, and proper handling throughout every stage of the receiving process.

  • Foster a culture where issues and risks are raised early, problems are solved collaboratively, and the team continuously looks for opportunities to improve.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in an operational, production, logistics, fulfillment, receiving, or comparable environment, including at least 2–3 years of direct supervisory or team leadership responsibility.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently run daily operations and make sound operational decisions with limited supervision.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, developing, and holding frontline teams accountable for performance.

  • Strong understanding of operational performance metrics, including throughput, productivity, quality, backlog/WIP, SLA attainment, capacity, and attendance.

  • Experience using operational data to identify performance gaps, prioritize actions, and drive improvements.

  • Strong structured problem-solving skills, with experience identifying root causes, implementing countermeasures, and monitoring results.

  • Experience developing or improving operational processes, writing SOPs and standard work, and training frontline associates.

  • Ability to recognize emerging operational risks and communicate or escalate them early and effectively.

  • Strong planning and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple competing operational requirements.

  • Ability to adjust staffing and workflow based on changing volumes, priorities, and operational constraints.

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and Google Sheets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A track record launching, ramping, or significantly scaling a new operation or team

  • Working knowledge of Lean, continuous improvement, structured problem solving, or operational excellence methodologies
