Operations Manager

Salary: £44,000 + Annual Bonus

Location: St Albans, AL3 6RP

What you'll be doing:

• Oversee and ensure the safe operation, maintenance, monitoring and reporting of efficiency of waste processing plants on site.

• Ensure the safe compliance of operation in with Environmental Permits and consent limits

• Managing and engaging a team through supporting a high performance culture, role modeling the veolia values and supporting the Senior business manager in communicating the company strategy, vision and goals.

• Assist the Senior business manager to help achieve the site budget profit and loss by supporting local sales strategy through delivery of service.

• Liaise with Senior business manager to ensure that all capital, infrastructure and large maintenance projects are accessed appropriately, carried out safely and reviewed in line with procedures and compliance.

• Promote, Implement and maintain safety protocols and emergency procedures in accordance with QSHE requirement 

• Interact with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner, including external regulators - HSE, EA, Water Authorities and neighbours (Commercial / Residential)  and prepare required report 

• Identify and ensure that appropriate training is provided to site staff on the operations and maintenance of the plant to include the successful processing of waste including delivering of tool box talk when necessary.

• Assist in the operation and management of all processes at Redbourn treatment plant.

• Identify the Improvement / opportunities for efficiency and site strategic development and implement through working with wider stakeholders 

• Manage site staff in the absence of the Senior Business Manager. 

What we're looking for:

• Extensive experience within waste management

• IOSH Managing Safely certification 

• Experience managing high performing teams

• Excellent stakeholder communication skills

• The ability to manage and develop staff
