Manage day-to-day trading and investment operations across public equities and digital assets. Responsibilities include trade lifecycle support, reconciliations, settlement, cash and wallet management, counterparty onboarding, P&L and risk reporting, operational controls, and process improvements. The role coordinates with trading, finance, compliance, technology teams, custodians, exchanges, brokers, and other external vendors.
Hivemind Capital is looking for a proactive and highly detail-oriented Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operational infrastructure behind our trading and investment activities. This role will primarily support our public equity hedge fund strategy, while also providing support and coverage to our digital asset trading strategies.
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring operational accuracy, scalability, and control across the trade lifecycle. Sitting at the intersection of trading, treasury, finance, risk, and external vendors, this role is perfect for someone who can seamlessly manage multiple stakeholders and priorities. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, takes initiative, and sweats the small stuff.
What you'll do:
- Support the end-to-end operational lifecycle for trading and investment activity across multiple asset classes, including Hivemind’s upcoming public equity hedge fund strategy and existing digital asset funds
- Maintain a systematic reconciliation framework between front office trading activity and back office records; monitor, record, and reconcile daily trading activity, positions, balances, and transactions across internal systems, exchanges, custodians, and administrators
- Help maintain and improve portfolio management systems (PMS), operational tooling, and reporting infrastructure to improve scalability and operational efficiency
- Support PnL attribution, exposure tracking, and risk limit monitoring across portfolios and counterparties
- Lead and support transaction execution and movement of funds across brokerage accounts, exchanges, and OTC counterparties, including digital asset transactions involving wallets and DeFi applications
- Assist with digital asset wallet management processes, including address generation, whitelisting, key backup coordination, and operational maintenance
- Lead the onboarding process and ongoing management of counterparties including prime brokers, exchanges, OTC market makers, custodians, and banking partners
- Coordinate settlement activity and resolve operational breaks, discrepancies, and failed trades in a timely manner
- Produce recurring operational, treasury, and portfolio reporting for internal stakeholders and leadership
- Partner closely with existing operations team members and finance, accounting, compliance, and investment teams to ensure accurate data flows and operational controls
- Proactively identify operational improvements and scope out workflow / process upgrades
- Assist with and lead various Operations-related firm initiatives related to firm vendors, efficiency, and budget
Our ideal candidate:
- 4+ years of experience in middle office, back office, or trading operations at a hedge fund, asset manager, proprietary trading firm, prime broker, or digital asset firm
- Strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle across traditional and/or digital asset markets, including settlements, reconciliations, cash management, and operational controls
- Experience reconciling positions, cash balances, and transaction activity across multiple counterparties and systems
- Familiarity with equities, derivatives, digital assets, and treasury operations preferred
- Experience processing crypto transactions both on-exchange and onchain, including familiarity with wallets, custody platforms, blockchain explorers, and DeFi protocols, is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable process improvements
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with evolving processes and responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with investment, finance, compliance, and technology teams as well as external vendors
- Advanced Excel skills required; familiarity with SQL, Python, or operational tooling is a plus
- Interest in digital assets, blockchain technology, and the evolving institutional crypto ecosystem
