This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will own the financial performance of the manufacturing and assembly operations for lighting products. You will lead cost accounting, factory performance reporting, and decision support to drive productivity, quality, on-time delivery, and working capital efficiency and partner with operations supply chain, engineering and product management to improve margins and cash while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

The role is contributing to the emergency lighting business in Leeds. You will report to the Leeds finance manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Strategy: Contributes to the definition of the strategy for the manufacturing site. Partners with relevant business leaders in determining strategy for area of responsibility and developing implementation and monitoring plan.
- Business planning and forecasting: Enables strategy translation into business plans and monitors measurable targets. Drives business planning and forecasting process (volumes, mix, conversion costs, headcount, overtime, energy, capex, inventory). Evaluates financial implications of various strategic decisions, builds scenarios and recommends actions. Lead annual cost roll, ensuring accurate labour and overhead rates.
- Business performance and optimization: Prepare and present operations P&L, variance bridges, and performance dashboards to site leadership. Monitors progress achieved and provides insight and analysis to support operational decision-making. Identifies issues and advises management on action plans and operational strategies to resolve. Partner with engineering and product management to cost new products, verify make-vs-buy assumptions, and model target cost vs. market price. Finance support for value engineering projects. Drive working capital improvement. Provide transparency on costs of quality.
- Accounting and reporting: Lead month end close process (standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis and inventory valuation) including account reconciliation, preparation of journal entries and balance sheet review. Own inventory accounting. Maintain standards for BOMs and routings across product families.
- Internal controls and compliance: Defines and implements internal controls regarding financial and non-financial operations. Ensures compliance with standards, regulations, guidelines and ensure segregation of duties.

Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent finance qualification
- Strong, well-established experience in manufacturing finance (preferred in lighting, electronics, electromechanical, or similar) and demonstrated experience in cost accounting.
- Proven business partnering with operations, engineering, and supply chain.
- Strong knowledge of computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software.
- You possess outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and multitasking abilities.
