The Role

The Operations Executive is responsible for the end-to-end operational delivery of The Payroll Centre’s training and events programme. This is a hands-on role covering event planning, logistics, delegate management, and on-the-day execution across a range of venues throughout the UK.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and a long-standing events agent to ensure all training days and events are delivered to a consistently high standard. The role also encompasses day-to-day office administration and customer service responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Event & Training Management
  • Plan and manage all training days and events end to end, from initial logistics through to on-the-day delivery
  • Co-ordinate venue booking, accommodation, catering, travel, and materials dispatch for all events
  • Manage delegate numbers, send joining instructions, and ensure all event preparations are completed on schedule
  • Prepare event materials including name badges, attendee packs, and delegate lists
  • Support the internal and external tutor team, manage diaries, and distribute post-event appraisals
  • Attend and run events at venues across the UK, including London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, and Scotland
Customer Service
  • Handle general email enquiries and respond to delegate queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Own the resolution of escalations and complaints, liaising with the Operations Manager as required
Administration & Operations
  • Maintain accurate records within the CRM across all event and delegate data
  • Monitor operational plans and timelines, flagging risks to the Operations Manager proactively
  • Support the wider operations team across departments as required
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
  • Liaise with venues, suppliers, tutors, and internal teams via email, Microsoft Teams, and telephone
  • Work closely with the Education team to support smooth training delivery for delegates

What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
  • Experience in event operations, coordination, or a similar administrative role
  • Customer service experience, including handling escalations
  • Experience working with a CRM system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Key Skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to administration
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence adapting to changing priorities and solving problems under pressure
  • Physical stamina for event days, which can involve long hours and manual handling
