Run legal matters end-to-end using senior-lawyer playbooks and AI agents: execute DD reviews, contract and ancillary reviews, manage professional appointments, coordinate with clients and counterparties, track throughput and quality metrics, improve playbooks, and escalate issues needing senior judgment.

Who you are

You're an operator, not a paralegal. You'll work alongside our senior lawyers and our AI agents to execute legal matters end-to-end, pushing each one through at a pace a traditional firm can't match. The senior lawyer sets the standard. The AI does the heavy lifting on drafting, extraction and analysis. You're the operator who makes sure every matter lands on time, in the right shape, with fewer revisions needed each week.

You do not need a law degree. We're deliberately hiring outside the traditional legal profile - for this role, a law degree is not required and not preferred.

The senior lawyer's playbook is the source of truth. Your job is to follow it precisely, push the work through the system, and improve your own numbers - throughput, accuracy, revisions required - week on week. Performance is measured in output, not hours. The firm is growing quickly, and for people who run ahead of the role, scope and responsibility grow with them - the ceiling here is set by output, not tenure.

In your first 12 months, you will:
  • Run legal matters end-to-end against playbooks - DD reviews, professional appointments, contract reviews, ancillaries

  • Work directly with our AI agents - prompting, reviewing outputs, and escalating only what needs senior judgment

  • Track your own throughput - speed per matter, revisions required, error rates - and improve the numbers week on week

  • Coordinate with clients and counterparties on email, documents and status

  • Improve the playbooks themselves as we find faster, cleaner ways of doing the work

You'll likely be a fit if you have:
  • 1-2 years out of university in a high-throughput operational or GTM role - BDR/SDR, AE, CS, strategy, Ops, or solutions engineering

  • A systems-thinker's instinct - you see a workflow, find the bottleneck, and fix it

  • Precision - you follow detailed instructions without drift, and your work product is consistently clean

  • Speed - you optimise for done-well over done-perfectly

  • Comfort working with AI as a teammate, not a threat - you use Claude, ChatGPT or similar every day

  • Bonus: you've worked at a legaltech startup before

Location

This role is based in our London office (Holborn) and you'll work in person with the team. Full-time, permanent.

About Alaro

Alaro is an AI-native law firm, built to deliver clear, timely legal judgment for Real Estate, investment funds, financial institutions, and corporates. We combine senior expertise with intelligent systems so routine work happens faster, and critical decisions don't wait. Our senior lawyers come from Kirkland & Ellis, Paul Hastings and equivalent firms; our engineering team comes from product and infrastructure roles at top startups and research labs. This role sits between the two.

We started Alaro in September 2025 and have raised £10m from Tier 1 VCs. We're SRA regulated. Our product is used daily by our own lawyers on real matters, creating a tight feedback loop between product and practice. With early customers and a world-class engineering and legal team taking shape, it's still day one - come build with us.

How we work
  • Ownership & accountability. Follow through without being chased. Name failures directly, without redistributing blame. Take initiative when something falls below standard, even outside your remit.

  • Speed & execution bias. Structure follows action. Decide with enough information, not complete information. A simple solution that ships beats a perfect one that doesn't. Planning is not progress.

  • Customer & client obsession. Trust is the product. Legal work is entrusted, not bought. Know when to go quiet. Make decisions that cost you something when they're right for the client.

  • Transparency & open communication. Default to open. Work in progress lives in shared channels, not DMs. Decisions are documented with the reasoning. Raise disagreements directly with the person involved.

  • Growth orientation & feedback culture. We grow by seeking discomfort. Take on work you are not yet qualified for. Give feedback direct enough to be useful.

  • AI fluency. AI-native is how we work. Use AI to eliminate steps. Build systems that compound.

What we offer
  • Meaningful ownership: Competitive salary and equity, real responsibility from day one.

  • Senior exposure: Direct work with senior lawyers from Kirkland & Ellis, Paul Hastings and the founding team, on live matters.

  • Real impact: You'll shape how the firm executes work - and the playbooks everyone runs on - as we grow.

  • Freedom to experiment: Autonomy to find faster, cleaner ways through the work, and to rewrite the playbook when you do.

  • Time together: Annual offsite in Alaró (Mallorca), plus regular in-person gatherings.
