🧑‍🚀 Operations Associate

As our Operations Associate, you’ll play a key role in keeping Hoxton Farms running smoothly as we grow. You’ll work closely with our Head of People and Chief of Staff to dive into the nuts and bolts of Hoxton Farms, helping to build and scale our people, internal operations, finance and compliance functions.

You’ll join a world-class startup backed by top investors, working at the intersection of biotech, food, and sustainability. As we take our deliciously fatty ingredient to market, you’ll help lay the operational foundations that make rapid growth possible.

You will be deeply involved in the day-to-day running of the company, from managing documents and contracts, to helping with hiring and onboarding, to supporting key areas like finance and legal. You’ll learn from experienced operators and be hands-on across the business. This is a perfect role for someone who’s curious, detail-oriented and eager to learn how a startup really works.

To succeed in this role, you should be highly organised, a strong communicator and excited to pitch in wherever you’re needed. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility from day one, and will need to balance precision and process with flexibility and drive. Your success will be measured by the quality, efficiency and reliability of the systems you support.

Be part of our team in person. This role is five days a week onsite.

About Hoxton Farms:

Hoxton Farms grow cultivated pork fat, a healthy and delicious ingredient for the food industry. Cofounded in 2020 by Max Jamilly and Ed Steele, we are building the world's most scalable and cost-effective tech stack for mammalian cell biomanufacturing – and we’re monetising it with a premium B2B ingredient. Hoxton Farms are a team of 50 based in London. We have raised from investors including Founders Fund, Collab Fund, FSV/F-Prime and Global Brain.

• Healthy fats. B2B cultivated fat is fast to market and will dominate a premium niche. Compared to traditional fat, cultivated pork fat is healthier and more scalable. Hoxton Farms have commercial traction with meat/CPG companies including some of the largest food companies in Asia.

• Cost and scale. Hoxton Farms have patented scalable, low-cost, high-yield bioreactors for mammalian stem cells. We opened a pilot production facility in London in 2023.

• Team. Hoxton Farms have a brilliant and friendly team including world-class talent from the cultivated meat, biotech and engineering industries – all under one roof in central London.

You will:

• Support the day-to-day running of business operations, working across people, communications, finance, legal, IP and more

• Collaborate closely with the Head of People and Chief of Staff to maintain and scale our internal systems

• Support hiring and onboarding to help us build an exceptional team

• Manage operational documents, contracts and records

• Support VC reporting on KPIs and financials

• Coordinate with external partners including accountants, lawyers, and IP specialists

• Research tools, processes, and best practices to help us work more efficiently

• Work with our accounting team to meet HMRC requirements and update financial models

You should have:

• Experience working in an operational role at a fast-paced startup

• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail

• Clear and confident written and verbal communication

• Comfort working with spreadsheets, documents and project management tools

• The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

• A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of projects

• Enthusiasm, curiosity and drive

• A talent for teamwork and collaboration

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Exposure to finance, legal, or HR processes - even if not in a formal role

• Familiarity with startup tooling like Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, and ChatGPT
