Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager, operating in all liquid asset classes across the world. We are a technology and data-driven group implementing a scientific approach to investing. Combining data, research, technology, and trading expertise has shaped QRT’s collaborative mindset, enabling us to solve complex challenges. QRT’s culture of innovation continuously drives our ambition to deliver high-quality returns for our investors.

We are seeking an Operations Analyst to join our team, offering a unique opportunity to transition into the Gas & Power sector. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in fund administration or middle office operations (trade support) who are looking to gain an understanding of energy markets and operational processes.

This role provides exposure to the operational framework that supports the movement of physical commodities such as an understanding of how gas storage, energy flows, and trade processes are managed across European markets—and how these tangible assets interact with infrastructure, pricing, logistics, and financial instruments within the broader energy trading landscape.

Your future role at QRT

  • Trade Booking & Processing: Ensure the accurate and timely booking of trades within internal systems.
  • Trade Life Cycle Management: Oversee trade entry, affirmation, reconciliation, and cascading.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform daily cash, transaction, and position reconciliation against external reports.
  • Fund Administration Liaison: Act as the first point of contact with fund administrators, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Build effective relationships with prime brokers, fund administrators, and internal teams to streamline operations.
  • Energy Market Exposure: Gain insight into how gas and power markets operate, including the mechanisms behind gas storage, pipeline flows, and energy scheduling.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and drive the implementation of new operational processes and procedures.

Your present skillset

  • Experience: 1–3 years in fund administration or middle office operations (trade support) across any product. Prior commodities or Gas & Power experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Operational Expertise: prior trade processing experience across any asset class (preferably Gas & Power) or a background in fund administration, to engage with external fund administrators.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify opportunities to automate and enhance operational processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in trade processing and reconciliation activities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, across the firm, and with external stakeholders.

This role offers a great opportunity for those with a fund administration or operations background to gain exposure to Gas & Power markets, develop technical expertise in energy trading, and understand the link between physical commodities and financial instruments.

QRT is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome diversity as essential to our success. QRT empowers employees to work openly and respectfully to achieve collective success. In addition to professional achievement, we are offering initiatives and programs to enable employees achieve a healthy work-life balance.
