Job Title: Operational Support Engineering Intern

Salary: Competitive plus Veolia benefits

Location: Bath/South West

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: 8-weeks (starting on the 29th of June 2026)

Candidate shortlisting will take place in May 2026 with assessment days taking place in June 2026.

Internship Programme;

During this programme, we'll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to take the next step and succeed in your career.

What you'll be doing;

  • Supporting the mobilisation of Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs), helping to coordinate activities across multiple sites and ensuring projects are set up for success from day one

  • Assisting with building compliance activities, including reviewing documentation, tracking statutory obligations and supporting the team in ensuring all assets meet current regulatory and legislative requirements

  • Gaining hands-on exposure to a wide range of building services and energy systems, including:

  - Air Handling Units (AHUs)

  - Chillers and chilled water systems

  - Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) systems

  - District heating networks

  - Steam boilers and associated distribution infrastructure

  - Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units

  - Heat exchangers

  - Effluent treatment plant

  • Working with metering and monitoring data, assisting in the collection, validation and analysis of energy consumption data to track performance against contract targets

  • Shadowing experienced engineers during site activities, developing a practical understanding of building services.

  • Getting involved in stakeholder engagement, supporting communication between internal teams, clients and subcontractors to keep mobilisation activities on track

What we're looking for;

  • This would be an ideal opportunity for a current student or someone who is looking for a placement in Energy Management, Site Services and Compliance

  • Degree qualification or currently studying towards a degree qualification in Engineering

  • Good understanding  of Google Suite and basic Excel skills, including data formatting and simple formulas

  • Good communication skills, an analytical mindset and attention to detail

  • Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills
