We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team at Capital.com as Operational Risk Analyst!

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments across various operational functions, including transaction processing, customer service, and compliance, to identify potential weaknesses or vulnerabilities.
  • Support the development of a comprehensive risk inventory that captures all significant operational risks and aligns with regulatory expectations.
  • Work closely with business units to implement risk controls and ensure that risk exposures are managed within the company’s risk appetite.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing controls, identify areas for improvement, and support process optimization initiatives to reduce risk exposure.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of control measures for new products, services, or processes to ensure risk is adequately managed.
  • Maintain risk metrics, key risk indicators (KRIs), and dashboards to provide real-time monitoring of operational risks.
  • Produce and deliver regular risk reports for senior management, detailing risk exposures, incident analysis and mitigation efforts.
  • Track and document risk issues, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring timely reporting and resolution in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate operational incidents to determine root causes, document findings, and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and produce reports with recommendations to prevent future occurrences, ensuring continuous improvement in risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop incident response plans and test these plans periodically to ensure the organisation is prepared for potential disruptions.
  • Ensure all risk management activities align with applicable regulations (such as GDPR, PSD2, and FCA or other local requirements) and internal risk policies.
  • Support regular reviews of the operational risk management framework, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on risk policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they are accessible and understood by relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Compliance and Internal Audit teams to ensure operational risk practices align with audit standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Track audit findings related to operational risk, supporting the implementation of remediation actions to address identified gaps.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture across the organisation by supporting training initiatives and communicating the importance of operational risk management.
  • Assist in developing educational materials and conducting training sessions on risk awareness, policies, and best practices.
  • Encourage employees to report potential risks and incidents, ensuring an open and transparent approach to risk management

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in operational risk, risk management, or audit, preferably within a regulated FinT ech or financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000) and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, PSD2).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and risk management software (e.g., GRC platforms) is desirable.
  • Experience with Excel, data visualisation tools, and SQL or other data query languages for analysis is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret and present complex data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate risk-related topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
