Role Overview:

The successful individual will be a key member of team within Citi's Operational Risk Management team providing independent 2nd line oversight of Citi's UK's Cluster. This role will support the team with data analysis, aggregation of key metrics and production of management reports, monitoring of metrics and development of ORM presentations for senior management and the 1st line of defense. It will also support the coverage team in conducting independent assurance reviews of the Uk Cluster, participating in review fieldwork, analysis, and presentation of results.

What you'll do:

  • Supports the ORM UK Cluster coverage team in designing and developing risk profiles and risk metric reports.
  • Effectively gathers data from disparate sources across the firm and externally; interprets data to evaluate the accuracy and relevance in measuring operational risk.
  • Interprets the results of analyses and communicates them in a compelling and effective manner for senior management use.
  • Supports the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to proactively manage operational risks to Citi
  • Independently assess' risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business users and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver requirements
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management and stakeholders on the status of operational risks.
  • Analyse data to identify trends or emerging risks and provide timely recommendations to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve operational risk management practices and enhance organizational resilience.
  • Ensure operational risk management activities comply with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to accomplish goals.
  • Is an enthusiastic and early adopter of change; takes ownership for helping others see a better future and stay positive during uncertainty.
  • Challenges self and others to seek out and communicate alternative views even when unpopular; welcomes diverse ideas to improve outcomes.

What we'll need from you:

  • Previous solid experience supporting risk management, compliance, governance, or controls related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in the risk management lifecycle.
  • Exposure to enterprise risk management frameworks and knowledge of risk reporting tools and techniques.
  • Exposure to operational risk concepts, methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to operational risk management.
  • Understanding of different risk types, e.g. credit, market, liquidity.
  • Exercises independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Robust project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to guide and influence others of ORM's challenge points and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to network, build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet deliverables.
  • Ability to analyse data to identify trends and emerging risks.
  • Ability to problem-solve, recommend practical and effective solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
