JOB TITLE: Operational Resilience Assistant Manager

LOCATION(S): Newport, Bristol, Chester and London

SALARY: From £43,803, depending on location

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site


About the role

Consumer Lending is the Group’s hub for lending solutions, helping customers spend and borrow responsibly to achieve their life goals. Our Resilience Team sits in our Consumer Lending COO, and we’re subject matter experts who protect the Consumer Lending business unit and contribute to safeguarding the wider Group. Our team defines and communicates Consumer Lending’s resilience strategy and plan.

In this role, you’ll be collaborating with many different colleagues to understand the current resilience landscape and using that knowledge to drive and promote a resilient culture. You’ll work with the Group Chief Operating Office team to understand regulatory expectations and ensure Consumer Lending aligns with these requirements.


What you'll be doing

You’ll support with several Resilience activities, including:

  • Embedding the Operational Resilience strategy and accurately reporting critical milestones.
  • Playing a part in the development of the Operating Model across Consumer Lending, ensuring roles and accountabilities are well understood.
  • Measuring the Business Resilience and Security Officer (BRSO) accountabilities within your area of expertise and collaborate with multiple teams to embed a resilience culture.
  • Collaborating with Business Units on the resilience agenda, maintaining the right interlocks to ensure resilience is a key part of decision making.
  • Providing input into the production of high-quality reporting including senior leader briefings and communications with business areas.
  • Supporting the research and analysis of specified problems to identify the best solutions.


What we're looking for

For this role, though previous governance and planning experience would be ideal, it is not crucial as training will be provided to set you up for success. We'll need you to be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:

  • Operational Resilience Strategy: Knowledge of LBG’s current Operational Resilience strategy and Important Business Service framework.
  • Time management, planning and prioritisation: Ensure that delivery plans are met and enquiries are responded to promptly.
  • Relationships: Develop and manage with a diverse range of colleagues.
  • Written Communication: Clear and concise writing skills for various audiences.
  • Data Insights & Storytelling: Proficient in Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc. and able to tell compelling stories to senior leaders.
  • Risk: Awareness of LBG’s Operational Resilience framework
  • Confidence: Challenge the red tape and always looking for ways to improve internal processes and policies to keep it simple for our customers.
