MS Amlin is embarking on a significant technology modernisation. We at Amlin Business Service (ABS) are a forward-thinking services organization undergoing a large-scale cloud transformation. As part of this journey, we are designing and embedding a Target FinOps operating model to ensure our cloud investments deliver maximum business value.

We’re seeking a FinOps Specialist to lead the implementation of our new FinOps model and take ownership of the ongoing operation of the FinOps capability. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, engineering, and operations—driving cloud cost visibility, accountability, and optimization across the enterprise.

About The Job

What you’ll spend your time doing:

  • Leading the rollout and embedding of the Target FinOps model across the organization.
  • Partnering with Finance, Cloud Engineering, and Procurement to drive cost accountability.
  • Building and maintaining cost allocation models and tagging strategies.
  • Monitoring cloud spend, forecasting usage, and identifying savings opportunities.
  • Developing and presenting cloud financial dashboards and reports.
  • Supporting budgeting, variance analysis, and cost governance forums.
  • Educating stakeholders on FinOps principles and cost-aware engineering.
  • Collaborating with platform and governance teams to align tooling and guardrails.

What you’ll be accountable for:

  • Successful implementation and adoption of the Target FinOps model across the organization.
  • Delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable cloud financial reporting.
  • Development and enforcement of cloud tagging and cost allocation policies.
  • Identification and execution of cost optimization initiatives (e.g., RI/SP management, rightsizing, usage hygiene).
  • Alignment of cloud spend forecasts with business and finance planning cycles.
  • Driving maturity across the FinOps lifecycle (Inform → Optimize → Operate).

You’re going to enjoy this job if you also…

  • Love working in cross-functional teams and translating technical details into financial insights.
  • Get satisfaction from solving complex financial puzzles and making data-driven decisions.
  • Are passionate about cloud technology and how it enables innovation and growth.
  • Are a great communicator who can influence without authority.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where transformation is the norm.

What you’ll need:

For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:

  • Experience in a FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, or Cloud Economics role.
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud billing models (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP also useful).
  • Familiarity with FinOps tools such as Cloudability, CloudHealth, Apptio, or native cloud cost tools.
  • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a tech context.
  • Knowledge of tagging strategies, cost allocation, and showback/chargeback practices.
  • Experience working in or with financial services or regulated industries.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
