Operational Change Manager

The role entails identifying inefficiencies in our existing processes and working with our technical teams to design, test and implement solutions. Data is at the heart of what we do, the ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of data integrity principles alongside strong knowledge of insurance and bordereaux processes.

This role suits someone who has been working in the delegated data space for a number of years, has been responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance with Lloyd’s V5.2 standards and has wanted to be more involved in the delivery of technology to support these operational processes. The ideal candidate wants to have responsibility for process improvement, be involved in onboarding technology and implement solutions which harness the power of data. The successful candidate will be the face of Bordereaux Operational improvement, so we need someone who is comfortable with being a key contact, who can breakdown challenges presented by others in a meaningful way and can effectively prioritise communication alongside hands on testing and analysis. The role will come with great exposure to DUAL’s senior leadership and business unit managing directors. Successful candidates who can demonstrate business improvements will have potential involvement in wider Operations-led initiatives.

The Role

The role offers the successful candidate exposure to:

  • Lloyds and Company market business
  • UK and International risks written via underwriting teams in 19 locations
  • Decision making on large, technology projects
  • Directly working with extensive network of brokers and capacity providers
  • Supporting the management and oversight of onshore and offshore team members

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Provide design thinking and expert knowledge supporting deliverables that underpin our strategy.
  • Help to develop optimal bordereaux and reporting solutions that deliver stakeholder requirements, demonstrable efficiency improvement and robust reconciliation.
  • Responsible for investigating operational issues, problems, and new opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements / solutions to problems to senior leadership that are in line with operational objectives.
  • Evaluate and provide assessment and alignment of potential work items in backlog to operational objectives, specifying realistic contributions to strategy and target outcomes.
  • Provide initial high-level options for solution design and business impact.
  • Collaborate with other technical operational teams and vendors to design and deliver solutions.
  • Present ideas and progress to senior leadership
  • Own development of documentation, guides and SOP’s to support initiatives and deliver documentation and training to the business teams.
  • Understand requirements for internal reporting, external reporting and data quality standards of the market and ensure all solutions contribute to these objectives
  • Bordereaux and Data Quality SME for all new initiatives and technology onboarding/upgrades, ensuring all solutions meet required standards

Skills and abilities needed to perform role

  • Work experience in dynamic and fast-paced Insurance environment
  • Be culturally sensitive and be passionate about building and working with diverse teams.
  • A strategic thinker with strong execution skills
  • Ability to adhere to and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to think at a strategic level while simultaneously rolling up the sleeves to solve for key opportunities and problems.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining an impeccable judgment and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new products, lines of business, processes, software, systems, and client needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI and Power Apps capabilities (or other market tools) preferable.
  • Numerate with a keen attention to detail.
  • Resilient and adaptable to change.
  • Confident and able to develop relationships through effective communication.

Knowledge and Experience

  • In depth knowledge of current Lloyds Coverholder Reporting Standards.
  • An understanding of Insurance and Delegated Authority, particularly Binders.
  • Knowledge of LMTOM & Market business glossary
  • Experience with Written, Premium & Claims bordereaux processes
  • In depth understanding of data integrity principles
  • Experience with reconciliation of premiums and financial data
  • Understanding of operational reports tracking KPI’s and SLA’s

Professional Qualifications

  • CII accreditation preferable but not essential.
