Description

At Civica, Observability Engineers play a critical role in enhancing the reliability and performance of our systems through comprehensive monitoring and observability tooling and practices. This position involves designing and implementing observability tooling that leverage metrics, logs, and traces to provide deep insights into system behaviour and performance. Our Observability Engineers enhance the developer experience by delivering the tooling which empowers our development teams to identify key performance indicators, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Working to build observability tooling into our developer platform, which enables developers to rapidly develop and iterate on our software and services
  • Helping users of the developer platform make best use of our observability tooling and practices
  • Acting as an observability subject matter expert for other colleagues
  • Proactively developing best practices within our platform community and integrating these into our tooling
Requirements

You will be an experienced observability engineer who posses the following skills:

  •  Datadog (preferred), Honeycomb, Prometheus/Grafana
  • Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services
  • DevOps concepts & practices.

It would also be great if you have experience with:

  • At least one DevOps-friendly programming language, preferably Go
  • SRE

Some technologies that we use:

  • AWS & Azure platforms
  • K8s (inc. AKS/EKS) and Docker
  • Terraform
  • Datadog
  • Github / Azure DevOps
