Condé Nast thrives on collaboration, and our teams come together in the office four days a week (Monday - Thursday).

We value diversity of background, views and cultures. We celebrate people for their personal qualities, skills and contributions, recognising the power our brands have to influence and shape culture.

The Role

We’re looking for a Newsletter Strategy & Growth Manager to ensure our newsletters are can’t-miss destinations in the inbox.

You’ll be a central consultant for Condé Nast’s editorial teams, guiding strategies to create must-read newsletters and grow high-quality subscriber lists.

The primary goals for this role are to increase loyalty, engagement, subscriptions and affiliate commerce revenue, while continuing to grow high-quality newsletter lists.

The ideal candidate will blend strong editorial judgement with data-driven insights to grow the newsletter channel across both KPIs and editorial excellence.

This role will report into the Director, Newsletter and Email Strategy, and will be responsible for global email acquisition and guiding editorial newsletter strategy for several brands within the Condé Nast portfolio. It is a highly cross-functional role, working closely with Editorial, Audience Development, Subscriptions & Memberships, Commerce and Product teams.

About the team

This role sits within Condé Nast’s centralised Newsletter Strategy and Email Operations team, a dynamic, global centre of excellence overseeing newsletter strategy, operations and growth across the network. The team keeps pace with industry best practice, tests and experiments across brands, and remains nimble around format and innovation.

What will you be doing?
  • Define and guide email acquisition strategies for all Condé Nast brands globally.

  • Establish newsletter strategy best practices for Audience and Editorial stakeholders, including approaches for flagship newsletters, onboarding journeys, subscriber-only products, re-engagement campaigns, audience segmentation, shopping newsletters and tentpole moments.

  • Analyse data from audience insights, testing and campaign performance to refine content strategy and format.

  • Develop roadmaps to support long-term newsletter growth goals across brands in the network.

  • Lead strategic feedback sessions and key meetings with brand teams, while staying up to date with and communicating relevant industry developments.

  • Develop strategies to increase consumer and affiliate revenue from newsletters, including subscription conversion, retention and commerce.

  • Understand brands’ editorial calendars and support their goals through data-led strategic recommendations.

About you

  • Proven experience (ideally 4–5+ years) working in newsletters, combining editorial vision with audience growth and consumer goals (subscriptions and commerce).

  • Experience working in newsletters for a publisher, ideally with a strong editorial background.

  • A deep interest in and understanding of the newsletter landscape.

  • Bold, strategic thinking and the ability to influence stakeholders to adapt or pivot approaches.

  • Excellent understanding of email execution, metrics, deliverability and best practices.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data through testing and optimisation.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Experience with Sailthru or similar ESP platforms is required.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives across brands.

  • A confident self-starter with a proactive mindset, capable of building strong relationships across the organisation to drive results.

  • A second language would be beneficial (French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese or Arabic).
