TITLE: Network Services Customer Solutions Engineer

Team Overview:
The Network Services Customer Solutions team is a lean, high-impact group that plays a critical role in driving technical leadership across the EMEA region. Reporting directly to the EMEA Director of Sales Engineering, the team currently consists of two Customer Solutions Engineers who work in close alignment with five Account Managers. Together, they provide end-to-end technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle.
This team:
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, Pricing, and partner vendors to design and deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Acts as trusted technical advisors to both clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring solutions are aligned with business needs and market demands.

Role Overview:
As adoption of our solutions continues to grow, we are seeking a talented professional to join the Network Services Customer Solutions team in London. This is a client-facing, technical pre-sales role focused on delivering solutions expertise across EMEA, both directly to clients and indirectly through partners and regional offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Lead presentations, design workshops, respond to RFPs, and prepare tailored solution proposals and bids. Provide ongoing lifecycle account support to ensure client success.
- Partner Collaboration: Work closely with third-party consultancies, vendors, and service providers within the broader ecosystem to deliver integrated solutions.
- Bid Support: Contribute to RFI and RFP responses, developing complex solution proposals that highlight IPC’s strengths.
- Regional Support: Assist distribution and regional offices to ensure product and corporate messaging is consistent, accurate, and aligned with IPC’s strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, marketing, and other internal teams to deliver high-quality lifecycle support for existing clients, while providing market feedback to shape new products and campaigns.
- Sales Partnership: Collaborate with Account Managers to drive business opportunities to closure.
The ideal candidate will currently be working in a pre-sales or ‘client-facing’ systems engineering role within a financial markets services provider or telecoms organization. They will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, organizational skills, enthusiasm, and outstanding communication abilities.

- Enable hybrid infrastructure: Identify and position opportunities across public, private, and hybrid platforms, guiding projects from inception through delivery handover.
- Deliver impactful presentations: Prepare, host, and present tailored sessions covering:
- Products, solutions, and services (benefits, features, technical details, and designs)
- Technology direction and roadmap
- Support bids and proposals: Contribute to RFI and RFP responses as part of the bid team, ensuring deliverables are:
- Technically accurate, credible, and contextually relevant
- Well-written, concise, and visually professional
- Aligned to highlight IPC’s strengths
- Delivered on time to agreed schedules
- Bridge clients and product teams: Act as a conduit between customers and IPC Product Management, providing feedback on enhancements and new requirements to drive innovation.
Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:
- Professional Experience: 2–3 years of relevant work experience as a Sales Engineer.
- Industry Background: Experience within a Financial Markets Services Provider is a must.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Foundations: Strong understanding of hosting and systems.
- Certifications: CCNA required; CCNP certification is considered a plus.
Technical Knowledge
We are looking for candidates with solid expertise in the following areas:
- Financial Technology: Financial extranets, server hardware, market data, low-latency trading infrastructure, and the broader fintech landscape.
- Cloud Solutions: Familiarity with public, private, and hybrid cloud technologies.
- Data Centre Environments: Experience with colocation facilities and infrastructure.
- Virtualization & Containerization: Knowledge of virtualization platforms and container technologies is a strong advantage.
- Timing Services: Understanding of PTP, boundary clocks, grandmasters, and related timing protocols.
- Networking Protocols: Proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and RIP.
- Traffic Engineering: Experience with carrier-class MPLS traffic engineering to support managed WAN, financial extranets, and VPLS network environments.
- Voice & Connectivity: Knowledge of SIP voice signaling protocols and carrier Ethernet.
- Security: Familiarity with network security principles, including encryption, authentication, SBC, and firewalls.
