Network Product Manager – Director

Overview:
Network Product Manager – Director defines services and solutions aligned with market needs and corporate objectives, ensuring that the pay-out partner network meets required standards for delivering high-quality payment services. This role also provides product expertise to drive sales and revenue while supporting the expansion of the receive footprint.
This position is responsible for supporting the execution of the Mastercard Cross-Border Services Product Management roles and responsibilities. This role works in conjunction with other teams/requestors to draft the business requirements for product development and complete all product and project readiness activities required to commercialize new features and functionalities.
Role
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of the product, leading training for internal stakeholders and regional partners on product functionality and strategy.
• Utilize the Aha Road mapping tool to build and manage product roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and report on network development progress.
• Partner with Product Owners to gather, elaborate, and document business requirements, ensuring that delivered solutions meet product needs and objectives.
• Adhere to the product development life cycle, incorporating Studio and P&E partnership principles to deliver prioritized projects.
• Drive ideation and conceptualization sessions with stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and technical experts, to develop innovative solutions for market opportunities and pain points.
• Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to translate concepts into detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
• Define and prioritize product enhancements and features based on customer feedback, business needs, and competitive analysis.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders from sales, marketing, engineering, and customer support to align priorities, propel initiatives, and maintain effective communication.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional projects within the Product Management vertical to drive product innovation and improvement.
• Define transaction routing and network rules based on operational intelligence, partner performance, and transaction characteristics, reviewing and updating them regularly as new partners are onboarded.
• Conduct research and provide insights into alternative payment solutions, market trends, and emerging technologies.
• Drive research and development of pay-out technologies, coordinating with Product, Operations, Technology, and PMO teams.
• Offer subject matter expertise on domestic banking systems, regulatory constraints, and local payment systems in target markets.
• Manage and update the Network Endpoint Guide with critical country-specific payment processes, documentation, ACH details, and payment type restrictions.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, endpoint partner characteristics, and client issues to assess network performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with operational teams to validate and monitor network integrity using transaction analysis.
• Support sales teams by developing effective sales materials and managing product content for internal and external network collateral.
• Define and implement the receive strategy, identifying and qualifying market opportunities based on local knowledge and quality-of-service needs.
• Work with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver product requirements, roadmaps, and timelines.
Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product performance and drive continuous improvement.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Understanding of new payment messaging protocols, specifically as it relates to cross border instant payment schemes
• Deep knowledge of payment and clearing systems as they relate to both domestic and cross border payments
• Understanding of current payment trends and developments, both from a flow and technological perspective
• Understanding different client segment needs such as Banks, Financial Institutions, Payment Service Providers and Corporates
• Proven track record in product management, with experience in the payments industry or related sectors.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and customer insights to drive product decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation, customer value, and business growth.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and product management tools.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the payments industry is desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills, and ability to think strategically and translate concepts into clear, actionable strategies and tactics;
• Strong self-motivation and organizational skills;
• Ability to build and maintain strong, productive, collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders over cross-functional teams from multiple countries.
