Provide third‑line support, troubleshoot complex issues, work with MSPs and deliver security, resilience and automation improvements in a regulated environment.

Salary: Up to £47,500 (Sheffield) / Up to £57,500 (London) depending on experience

THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Infrastructure and Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security and performance of our hybrid IT environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing, supporting and continuously improving a diverse infrastructure spanning cloud, on-premises and hybrid platforms. You will work closely with managed service providers and internal stakeholders to maintain high-performing networks, servers and systems that support business operations.
You will take ownership of and contribute across a broad range of technologies, including routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, cloud networking, server administration, identity and access management, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery. You will also provide third-line technical support, investigate complex issues, identify root causes and help deliver continuous improvements that enhance resilience, security and efficiency.
To succeed in this position, you will bring extensive hands-on experience across multiple enterprise infrastructure, networking and cloud technologies, together with a commitment to delivering reliable and secure services. You will be comfortable working in a regulated environment, collaborating with colleagues and suppliers, and managing competing priorities while maintaining high standards.
You will have experience with technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Windows and Linux server environments, network security solutions, Active Directory, automation and scripting tools, and modern endpoint management platforms. Relevant certifications in networking, cloud and infrastructure technologies will be highly valued.
