Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer (Networks)
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Occasional out of hours support and travel to other sites will be required)
Salary: Circa £65,000 (Dependant on experience)
Reporting to: Network Manager
Location: London Docklands (Hybrid). Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.
Using a “Cloud First” approach, our Infrastructure department provides the foundation for all IT services and delivers communication services for the organisation.
You’ll be using advanced technical knowledge to resolve issues, continually drive improvements, and work on a variety of projects to make sure the systems in your area are working effectively and has the capability needed for the future.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be using your advanced technical knowledge to deliver support, maintenance, improvements and project work to make sure the systems in your area are working effectively and has the capability needed for the future.
You will be one of the go-to people for anything related to the systems you are supporting and taking ownership of the way escalated technical problems are dealt with.
As a strong communicator you will build relationships with other teams and users to understand the requirements and improvements that can be made.
You’ll take ownership of new technical developments in your area and meeting SLA’s around day to day support.
The team offers support 07:00-18:00 and you will be working on a rotational basis. Occasional out of hours work will be required, this will be paid or time off in lieu.
Minimum Criteria
You will be an experienced network engineer with the ability to deliver a mixture of implementation, maintenance and operational support for these technologies & systems:

Cisco routers, switches (including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst)

IP routing technologies for Campus and Data Centre (OSPF, MP-BGP)
-
Overlay & VPN Technologies (VXLAN, IPSec)
-
SD-WAN - Cisco preferred
-
IP routing technologies for Campus and Data Centre (OSPF, MP-BGP)
-
Network Access Control systems (Cisco ISE) and 802.1x
-
Wireless - Cisco preferred
-
Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PAN-OS & Panorama)
-
Quality of Service
-
Cisco ASAv
-
NPM, APM, NetFlow & NCM - SolarWinds Orion preferred
-
Cisco Secure Client (including AnyConnect) suite
-
Cloud networking (e.g. virtual firewalls, Express Route, Peering, Routing, NLB, Private Endpoints) – Microsoft Azure preferred
Soft Skills
-
Well organised with strong attention to detail – you’ll be writing and maintaining design, installation and configuration documentation.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal – you’ll be able to communicate highly technical terms to a range of stakeholders from a diverse user base.

Experience working in a technical team where you’ve been resolving technical problems, delivering upgrades and continuous improvements.

Experienced in defining technical solutions to meet requirements – you’ll have carried out implementation and detailed level support.

Fosters a culture of customer first, focuses on continual upskilling, and mentoring junior members of the team.
