Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Network Engineer to join one of our highly specialized, trading team-aligned engineering teams in London.
Responsibilities
- Working with the EMEA working group and global Networks team to monitor and troubleshoot the network
- Providing network support for production, office, and end-user environments
- Performing moves, adds, and changes in the network
- Performing market connectivity tests and circuit migrations
- Provide support, and technical expertise
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of experience working with complex, high performance networks with multiple sites (data centers and/or trading facilities)
- Significant knowledge of client-server architectures and network design
- The ability to work with traders and technologists to balance competing and/or quickly shifting priorities
- The ability to work in a fast pace critical production environment
- The ability to drive and guide Networks projects initiatives onto the EMEA infrastructure
- Knowledge of Arista EOS and Cisco NX-OS/IOS
- Knowledge of Layer1 devices (Metamako or Exablaze)
- Knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, MSDP, and PIM
- Significant knowledge of BGP and multicast
- Knowledge of VPN configuration and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of datacenter installation and cabling standards
- Knowledge of Network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Wireshark and SNMP
- Knowledge of network security and firewalls
- CCNP certified and Systems administration experience (preferred)
- Strong scripting skills such as Python (a plus)
- Good knowledge of Linux
