The Opportunity
In this role, you act as a global representative for Hitachi Energy’s Network Manager solutions, supporting grid operators and energy stakeholders as they modernize, operate, and secure critical power network operations. You work at the intersection of grid software, customer engagement, and commercial execution—coordinating global technical pre‑sales activities and helping position Network Manager as a trusted platform for energy management, monitoring, and control.
You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to guide opportunities from early concept through customer presentation. Your work spans client demonstrations, tradeshows, complex proposals, and consultative engagements with customers across regions. Through this role, you support the reliability, performance, and ongoing modernization of power networks by ensuring customers receive fit‑for‑purpose solutions that align with technical requirements, business priorities, and long‑term grid objectives.
This is a global, matrixed role with broad visibility. You guide a distributed pre‑sales organization, support multiple regions simultaneously, and contribute to both near‑term pipeline execution and longer‑term market growth. The position offers meaningful exposure to grid software strategy, customer decision processes, and the evolving needs of the power industry.
How You’ll Make an Impact- Build and run the global Network Manager pre‑sales capability, ensuring coverage of all technical aspects of the solution.
- Partner with the NC Global Sales Manager to set priorities, align regional needs, and progress opportunities across regions.
- Review customer specifications, assess compliance, and shape technical and commercial responses.
- Work with Engineering and Product teams to address gaps versus standard offerings and manage technical risk in proposals.
- Support execution of the full proposal process, from concept through customer presentation, including bid / no‑bid input where applicable.
- Serve as a recognized authority for Network Manager, coordinating resolution of technical issues and advising internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Leaders to consult with customers, support sales events, and move opportunities through the funnel.
- Develop and mentor the pre‑sales organization through skills assessment, coaching, and performance follow‑up.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of related software experience.
- Experience managing teams and working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Preferred knowledge of the software industry and experience within a global, matrix organization.
- Sound understanding of SCADA and energy management applications.
- Process Excellent leadership, communication, prioritization and organizational skills
- Experience with monthly and quarterly close and reporting cycles
- Change leadership experience and proven delivery of change implementation
- Proven ability to build effective relationships at all levels across the business, able to collaborate within the broader business at a senior level
- Results driven, ability to inspire, motivate and lead people to best outcomes indirectly, using influencing skills
