Job Description:

About the Company:

This role will be an important member of the team behind our platform’s launch and global success.

Position Overview:
The Events Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing exhibiting at Global Industry Events as well as hosting local events in partnership with a range of third parties in the B2B services, Industry Bodies and Chambers of Commerce that are aimed at recruiting new subscribers, driving customer engagement, and enhancing the company’s market presence. This includes overseeing industry trade export events, customer-facing exhibitions, and conferences, with a strong focus on driving subscriber acquisition. The ideal candidate will be a skilled project manager with experience in running subscriber-driven events and managing cross-functional teams to deliver impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Lead the planning and coordination of global events, including industry trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, and local customer events, all with the goal of acquiring new subscribers.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, product, etc.) to align event objectives with subscriber acquisition and business growth goals.

  • Develop event plans, including timelines, budgets, logistics, staffing, and strategies for subscriber recruitment and engagement.

Global Event Management:

  • Coordinate large-scale industry trade export events, ensuring that the company’s messaging, branding, and subscription offerings are front and center.

  • Manage local events to engage with existing customers and prospects, using these opportunities to recruit subscribers.

  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, travel coordination, booth setup, and on-site event operations.

Subscriber Recruitment Strategy:

  • Design and implement strategies at each event to recruit subscribers, using event-specific promotions, demos, and marketing materials.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and messaging that drive subscription sign-ups at events.

  • Ensure that subscriber recruitment is integrated into all event-related activities and that all teams at events are focused on driving sign-ups.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage event budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery of events while meeting subscriber acquisition targets.

  • Track expenses, negotiate with vendors, and find ways to optimize event costs without sacrificing event quality.

  • Monitor and report on event expenses, ensuring that all financial details are captured and managed effectively.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with event partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of event services and materials.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination before, during, and after the event.

  • Build and maintain relationships with event venues, sponsors, and external agencies to optimize event outcomes.

Event Promotion and Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create pre-event promotion strategies that drive awareness and interest in the company’s subscription offerings.

  • Oversee the creation of event materials, including brochures, promotional content, and signage, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.

  • Implement post-event follow-up strategies, including lead capture, customer surveys, and reporting on the success of subscriber acquisition.

On-Site Event Execution:

  • Oversee the on-site execution of events, ensuring that all logistics run smoothly, from booth setup to event registration.

  • Manage the event team on the ground, ensuring that team members are well-prepared to engage with prospects and convert them into subscribers.

  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during events to ensure everything runs seamlessly.

Post-Event Analysis and Reporting:

  • Gather feedback from attendees, stakeholders, and internal teams to evaluate the success of events, with a particular focus on subscriber acquisition.

  • Provide detailed reports on event outcomes, including key metrics (attendance, leads generated, subscription conversions, ROI) and insights for future improvements.

  • Analyse event performance to continuously improve event strategies, with a focus on increasing subscriber sign-ups.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in event planning and management, with a focus on subscriber recruitment or customer acquisition.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and event attendees.

  • Budgeting and Negotiation Skills: Experience in managing event budgets, negotiating contracts, and sourcing vendors.

  • Detail-Oriented: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to anticipate and solve problems.

  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with event management software, CRM tools, and other digital platforms to streamline event coordination and promotion.
