What will you be doing at DeepL?

You will be instrumental in driving deep, strategic revenue growth within a highly focused portfolio of the largest and most complex enterprises in the UKI region. This role is built on a foundation of outbound motion and deep engagement, requiring you to act as a true business partner to a very small, select group of 5-10 named accounts. Your success will be defined by your ability to secure multi-year relationships, drive significant expansion, and align DeepL’s strategic value with the C-level vision of our customers.

Your responsibilities

Deep Account Engagement & Ownership:

  • Manage and own an exclusive portfolio of 5-10 Named Accounts within the ENT UKI segment.

  • Execute a pure outbound motion to penetrate, secure, and deepen relationships within these accounts.

  • Hold full account management and expansion responsibility, acting as the primary DeepL executive across the entire customer lifecycle.

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Act as a business partner to prospects and customers, moving beyond a transactional sale to deeply understand and align with their strategic priorities and long-term vision.

  • Take the long-term view, balancing patience and persistence to secure multi-year, strategic commitments.

Executive Level Influence:

  • Be adept at exec-level engagement, establishing credibility and influencing decision-making at the C-level (e.g., CIO, CMO, COO).

  • Define and execute comprehensive multi-year account strategies, driving expansion across multiple use cases, business units, and geographies within the named accounts.

Complex Deal Management:

  • Drive complex negotiations, structuring sophisticated deals that maximise long-term mutual value for both the customer and DeepL.

  • Navigate intricate enterprise landscapes, coordinating internal resources (Product, Legal, Solutions Engineering) to execute on strategic account plans.

Qualities we look for
  • 10+ years of successful closing experience in complex, high-value enterprise software or SaaS sales.

  • 5+ years of dedicated Enterprise (ENT) experience, specifically managing and expanding large, strategic accounts.

  • Prior experience in a similar external-facing Internal ENT AE / external ENT AE / Strategic AE role is required, with a preference for experience in a relevant industry (e.g., MarTech, CX, Content/Data platforms).

  • A track record of consistently exceeding quota in roles focused on deep account penetration and multi-year contract structuring.

    Skills & Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to craft and articulate a compelling value proposition that resonates at the executive level.

  • Exceptional negotiation and deal-structuring skills, with experience managing multi-stakeholder, long-cycle enterprise sales processes.

  • High degree of autonomy, discipline, and strategic thinking required to manage a small, highly valuable account list.

What we offer
  • Diverse and internationally distributed team: joining our team means becoming part of a large, global community with people of more than 90 nationalities. We're more than just colleagues; we're a group of professionals with a shared mission to connect diverse cultures. Our global presence is growing–we've doubled in size nearly every year, with our employees based in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the US, and Japan, and we continue to expand our network.

  • Open communication, regular feedback: as a language-focused company, we value the importance of clear, honest communication. We value smooth collaboration, direct and actionable feedback, and believe that leading with empathy and growth mindset makes us better together.

  • Hybrid work, flexible hours: we offer a hybrid work schedule, with team members coming into the office twice a week. This allows you to engage directly with your team and experience the unique energy of our workspace, while still enjoying the flexibility and comfort of working from home. With flexible working hours and trust in your productivity, we are in sync with your team’s general locations and time zones to foster effective and seamless collaboration.

  • Regular in-person team events: we bond over vibrant events that are as unique as our team, from local team and business unit gatherings, to new-joiner onboardings, to company-wide events that bring us all together–literally.

  • Monthly full-day hacking sessions: every month, we have Hack Fridays, where you can spend your time diving into a project you're passionate about and get the opportunity to work with other teams–we value your initiatives, impact, and creativity.

  • 30 days of annual leave: we value your peace of mind. With 30 days off (excluding public holidays) and access to mental health resources, we make sure you're as strong mentally as you are professionally.

  • Competitive benefits: just as our team spans the globe, so does our benefits package. We've crafted it to reflect the diversity of our team and tailored it to align with your unique location, to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

If this role and our mission resonate with you, but you're hesitant because you don't check all the boxes, don't let that hold you back.
