About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive, strategic, and results-driven Senior Enterprise Account Manager to accelerate Proofpoint’s growth across Africa. This position will report to the Sales Director for Emerging Markets.

You will own and grow a portfolio of named enterprise accounts, combining new business acquisition (main focus) with expansion of existing relationships. You’ll work closely with System Engineers, Channel Partners, and internal stakeholders to develop strategies that protect customers from advanced threats and enable long-term success.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships within enterprise accounts (750+ end users) across multiple verticals
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (System Engineers, Channel Partners) to develop and execute account strategies.
  • Drive new business acquisition while expanding relationships with existing customers by introducing our full suite of security, compliance, and information protection solutions.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations in partnership with technical teams.
  • Analyse and report on pipeline progression, forecast accuracy, and account performance.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, ensuring operational excellence and timely execution.
  • Maintain compliance with Proofpoint’s sales methodology and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Proven success in enterprise technology sales, ideally with SaaS and cybersecurity solutions.
    • Track record of exceeding quotas, winning new logos, and leveraging channel partnerships.
    • Strong executive selling skills (CISO, CIO, CMO) and ability to influence complex buying cycles.
    • Experience closing deals in the $100K–$1M range.
    • Familiarity with formal sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger, TAS, Command of the Message).
    • Fluent English language is required and any additional languages are a plus
  • Preferred:
    • Experience using Salesforce.
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Growth mindset and willingness to be coached.
    • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
    • Entrepreneurial approach with urgency and strategic thinking.
