Join us as an MTN & CP Syndicate Specialist Associate or Vice President
- This customer focused role will see you originating, pricing, trading, and distributing primary fixed income products including CP and MTNs to institutional investors via our investor salesforce
- Working closely with stakeholders in the flow syndicate desk and with issuers and investors, you’ll help to push our business forward
- You’ll benefit from strong support from a collegial DCM and syndicate team, a strong salesforce, and access to some of the industry’s best strategists and economists
What you'll do
We’ll look to you to execute transactions and take the lead in ensuring all business processes are completed in accordance with policy. You’ll risk manage residual bond and CP positions and be responsible for appropriate hedging, working with our DCM to push ideas and recommendations with our issuers.
You’ll be responsible for, and continuously strive to improve and automate the marketing of desk axes to our sales teams. As well as undertaking data analysis regarding market trends to help us drive well thought out trade ideas, you’ll build relationships with issuers and investors to enhance our ambitions.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Developing an understanding of new issuance pricing for CP and debt instruments across our issuer spectrum and working closely with Origination and Sales to deliver funding for our issuers
- Ensuring that all transaction related procedures are complied with, and taking all reasonable steps to ensure activities are in line with NatWest Markets policies covering conduct, operational, credit, and regulatory risks
- Ensuring accountability for the delivery of commitments to customers, demonstrating good time management skills and attention to detail
- Developing relationships with product teams across the wider business
- Providing pricing and structural guidance to Sales as well as supporting Origination efforts through deal specific and market-based intelligence
The skills you'll needThe skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to hold a relevant degree or equivalent, and you’ll have an understanding of derivatives and exposure to fixed income instruments. Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Excel and coding including Python, relevant work experience in a financial institution (eg MTNs, Syndicate, DCM, Fixed Income or Derivative Trading). Western European language skills would be helpful but not critical.
