At Ipsen, we are committed to improving patients’ lives through innovation in specialty care. We are seeking an experienced MSL Lead to join our UK & Ireland Medical Affairs team and play a pivotal role in shaping field medical excellence.
About the Role
As the MSL Lead, you will be a senior field-based medical leader reporting to the Country Medical Director and forming part of the UK & Ireland Medical Leadership Team. You will drive field medical excellence, capability building, and best practices across therapy areas, while ensuring alignment with global standards. This role combines strategic leadership with selective external engagement and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do
- Define and implement ways of working for MSLs, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
- Lead matrix tracking, insights generation, and action planning, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Act as the UK & Ireland liaison with Global Medical Excellence, sharing and implementing best practices.
- Selectively engage with KOLs across therapy areas for high-level scientific exchange.
- Drive coaching and capability building through workshops and role-play sessions.
- Support pre-launch and post-launch activities, including therapy area mapping and clinician tiering.
- Ensure compliance with ABPI Code, Ipsen policies, and all relevant regulations.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Life Science graduate with higher degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSc, MBA or similar).
- Experience:
- Extensive field-based MSL experience with proven success.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Expertise in insights generation and strategic action planning.
- Deep knowledge of ABPI Code and compliance requirements.
- Preferred: Experience in neuroscience, rare disease, or oncology; team or matrix management experience.
